  1. Yep tested it and its good, in my opinion it is the best budget priced dvr on the market for 4ch, only draw back is the way the log program works, hay it is no Kalatel, but it has some really cool features some even are better than Geo and Kalatel and for the price it is well worth it, I nearly fell over at the price. Only drama is same as kalatel, fussy on CDRW drives so if your dies make sure you keep a spare

    Geovision login problem

Two tips.... 1/ sell the system with a cordless keyboard and mouse, then add silastic to the transmitter socket, hard to play around without access to keyboard and mouse, then obviously lock the wirelss gear away. (oh but rmemeber you sold it or you will get some stupid call saying the dvr does not work, when after all it si just flat batteries) 2/Use the desktop lockup feature, it replaces the desktop with the Geo desktop and stops unwanted access and kills ctrl alt delete etc. I ahve neevr seen your problem in recent Geo software.. did see this fault a very long time ago.. just make sure that the auto log in password person you made has not had the ability to record turned off as an option.. I dount this is your problem but it can hardly hurt to check.

    geovision input board

Yes need either a rs45 converter and i/O box or an all in one I/O 485 card

    How to do this?

hate to admit it, but this is a perfect solution for I.P cameras, you can get a massive recording server and use software to gain access to any single camera... mind you all 600 at once sending video is a bandwidth nightmare

    hey

hay hermy!!!! Great to have you back with us dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. bit suss though, the live image the same as recorded and no distortion, that loks cut and paste of pictures to me mate... aslo their zoom in from satelite type map connection is bogus, no matter where you click it is going to take you to same place, after all its just a html link to some JPEGS before logging in.... Looks like some clever manipulation but why cheat when softwrae actully is pretty good

Going to take a step back from Management into just a sales role, possibly a sales mangers role in some time... BTW found an excellent real time full resolution standalone with networking and CDRW full 400fps

Yeh realised that, problem is have huge database of small timers, shame to loose them all, and bigger deals are hard to close, lot of palm greasing goes on down here. Not against selling to the larger sized companies, much prefer that actually, but Bosch hasnt sold much in CCTV here at the moment, the main reason is a lot is price driven here, look I am hapopy with the offer, but I have to say Id hate to take someones money and not be able to provide the results, every time I have been set a target I always reached it and most times doubled it, but id hate to not be able to sell it and have them pay me such a high salary. Market is for cheaper gear here more than brand names, maybe because we are so close to Asia, most integrators of size can now buy direct, so survival in Australia, means you must either do large projects or large volume of cheaper gear. for example top of the range 100fps 16 ch unit is $14,877 AUD!!! my 800-16 100FPS machine that is much more powerfull is only $2,686 AUD, thats a really big difference, the biggest problem that I face is that I cant bring any other products in.. so stuck with that DVR, other issues are that I cant sell interstate, and most of my sales are to interstate clients. So really confused here, Bosch are very keen to have me, but I dont know if their price is out of the market here and perhaps I might not make targets, Bosch is a reputable product so they wont want to lower the prices globally, but can not see how they will survive with these prices.

new Geovision GV-250 card for $75 ... is that a good deal??

No, it will not affect your recordings, the only advantage it makes towards recording is that on some models you can shift the processing load to recording for faster speeds, this slows down display but if you have the DSP card then display is not affected. The DSP card is just a fast overlay board, it makes the signal close to analogue in appearance and gives a Muxed mirrored output to a spot monitor and copies what is on the main screen minus the GUI. Because the video is overlayed it looks a lot clearer and can improve picture quality by up to 70% for viewing purposes. Hope this helps, Regards, GC

    4 ch eco DVR

We have sold buckets of them, until today, when I finnaly sold the last lot, i will still stock them, want to bring in the new model with Lan, the cheaper version your using without motion detect is not sold much here but the one with motion (more expensive) is really popular, I will still hold these units but the Nadatel is going to cream it by features plus has webserver, remote access, loops, alarms, rs232 etc etc, so that goes into my price list today, we will soon see if it is a price or feature driven market.

it's looking almost official, looks like i will be a Bosch boy in the new year, going to be tough though, there price on the DVR they sell is 5 times higher than what I currently sell Geo for and not as good either, but their cameras are excellent and with the bidirectional software feed up the coax, they ae excellently designed, means you can back focus from end of the coax, but the Price, man they are expensive, the Ganz is probably not as good, sad to say, I thought it was, but after looking at the Dinion range they arent as good, but blimey, they are a quarter of the price. So i guess I will go and give it a run, but I think I may not be there for as long as I would like, going to be tough to move a product that is so expensive.

PC Spec for Viewing Digital CCTV Images

There are two things to look for, pixel count and refresh rate, I use a an X series 21Inch LCD at home, because of the 11NS refresh rate, which is great for games, but I dont recommend LCD's for CCTV, pixels burn out, best to go high definition CRT!

    Licence Plates

I agree about the motors... but Lilin make a really cheap but good PTZ for under $1000 US!!! If they dont need the scene then justya good wide dynamic like the Pana or the Ganz, something good I just saw for this is the inversion built into the Baxhual range, not bad cams either, just tested one, was true for TV lines, which is rare these days!

really not sure onthe audio, but me thinks you dont need the oterh connector, as that is for 1 ch audio from memory, remmebr ausio wont work unless recording in low res.

Is this real .01 lux color camera?

as always, there are many types of Sony Chip not just models, but grades, I would not buy this camera as thye have not mentioned at what F stop the camera achievs this rating, and without mentioning a brand name, I would not trust the specs at any rate. When I was stupid enough to buy Taiwanese cameras we once got a shipment of cameras that were only rated for 3 lux when they used tyo be .01 lux, we contacted the manufactorer and complained but they said they could fix it in half an hour, so I scratched my head and started looking at the board for dip switches, then the fax wrang and to my surprise they just faxed an ammended spec sheet..... bloody hel.. I tested the camera and it was no where near that figure... typical, you see things like signal to noise ratio etc work i the same way, some manufactorers claim they have excellent figures, but the thing is that figure was achieved once in the day, it was not an average... many cheaper manufactorers lie, it is true that you get what you pay for... Two other tricks of the trade... A company here started rating all its cameras for low light, but the sneaky thing they did was rate this figure on a very low F Stop... the price of the lens that would be needed to achieve this light level would be astronomical, but not many people knew this. Another is DVR's Frames per second is the standard rating for recording spped, but word it as IPS (images per second) and then it can be doubled, you see there are 2 Images to evry frame, but as an end user you would never know this. another trick is to have a digitaly zoomed image that is produced by a camera, now everyone knows its pixolated, but hay, all of the sudden, the resolution is much larger so the pixel count is bigger.. Beware.. truth is you get what you paid for!!!

    Licence Plates

The biggest problem is that to get a zzomed in view to see a plate you forgoe the rest of the scene, this means that a zoomed in cam to only see plates will never see the driver or surroundings, I know you do not like the Geo, but why not use a PTZ that suports alarm inputs, this means you can have a pre set, zoomed position that will egt plates and the camera will zoom in on this location for you every time your PE beam is activated.
  24. I know, but you dont have to use heir software, in fact some excellent people in this forum..wont name names..have used their development kits to develop better sofware... the first post was also looking for a cheap solution and Comart is cheap.
