HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please
cctv_down_under replied to cctv_down_under's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You are right, you need a card that supports it, otherwise pink screens Problem I have is none of these products have 4:3 as a native display it just shrinks to this I need a 30" screen with VGA or XVGA and 4:3 interface -
take a look at the demo from this site http://www.tstg.com.au or this one http://www.geovision.com.au From memory they both use the web cam from inside their site but Geo needs to load a codec, for straight streaming you need one that does not use active x or a Java derivitive, there are webservers from AVtech that do this..but never tested it

Can someone identify this DVR?
cctv_down_under replied to juggle007's topic in Digital Video Recorders
none what so ever! look I admit I gave it to him both barrells, but so often he has stated that PC's are unstable and that they fall over, and that is garbage, due to people like this making these statements (and I dont blame him, thats what GE and others use to market their product) poeple fear PC machines and the only reason they do it is to sell more of thier product which is not as good (in my opinion) This really annoys me (gee can you tell) the fact remains that some companies brag about US Made...Stable AS....Better than a failing PC and yet they build standalones with components that I would never use in a pink fit. I am not angry at Rory more at the manufactorer that breeds this hype.. and then the distributor that echoes it without knowing any better.. simple fact is that if PC's broke all the time and were as unstable as Rory says then I would be out of business because the thousands that I have sold now would most definately have brocken by now and I would have alot of angry customers... but for some reason I do not! -

Its the same for board manufactorers as well the board for the Kalatel is manufactured in ASIA it may be assembled in the US but that does not make it US made -

Assembled and Built are not the same thing, there is not one true CCTV Manufactorer in the US that I know of it ALL COMES FROM ASIA... here is a good quote from a good website Rory, even Alan told you they don't manke it but you beleive the hype buddy! I am so over you Rory, the Kalatel crashed many times when I tested it, there are plenty of good standalones here but the Kalatel is just way too slow and way oevrpriced...Youa re paying for a name and you are very wrong, I have sold manymany AVtechs and yes they arent as powerfull as the Kalatel but they cost nothing near it and most of the functions ytou speak of arent needed, god knows if they were Geo would be everywhere.. Why have none of mine crashed?????? and are you SURE the Avtech is an embedded linux, actually never checked because... NONE HAVE EVER FAILED.. (well 1 has actually) but I suspect it was bashed no PC watchdog in the AVtech!!! I didnt claim the the DM was faster, just better value and easier to use, none of them aree worth that amount of money there are many better that I have seen now there are some that do full pall at 480FPS Dont get cute on me RORY, I tested that ****ty unit and you know I put a full report on here, you are a really arrogant bugger mate and I am sick of you sprouting off about how bad PC's and how wonderfull your kalatels are, how many DVR's have you sold mate... not many hay.. pays to do research.. and unless your selling them offshore! The kalatel is a good unit but not worth the money at all and No i never would have said anything negative about it at all except that yo so often and proudly make notes that PC's are unstable and poor qualioty machines -
120PPS over 16 cams thats 7.5FPS per camera, thats pretty darn slow, plus the higher frame model is way oevrpriced considering what is on the market, depends if you like to pay for a name and get ripped off or whether you are prepared to shop around

http://GE - General Electric - they are bigger then phillips, honeywell, etc. They dont just do Kalatel, in fact they only bought them a year or so ago. Kalatel is a part of GE Interlogix, one very small portion of the company. GE makes everything you can think of. This is true but boy oh boy do they charge you for it, come off it Rory, half the people do not need any more features than the AVTECH supports and the twomachines are made in the same fashion with an embedded OS, in fact I would have to say the AVtech has less chance of crashing than the Kalatel. Once AGAIN The Kalatel is not made in the US only assembled there it all comes from ASIA, this is just a branding ploy, Kalatel gear is average to good, the Storesafe is pretty good for a low end model, hardly sells here because of the low frame rate.. As for pricing of the Kalatel, I was offered very low pricing for the gear, OOHHH and yes thats Australian made considering it is assembled here. Thomas.. I take your point about commitment, but not all companies do this, especially if you are a small installer and they have many large accoounts to handle.. I read many posts on how bad kalatel and GE were to deal with and I can comfortably say from my own experiences that they are absolutley useless here! -
Purchase Order Client...Looking for Guinnea Pigs
cctv_down_under posted a topic in General Digital Discussion
Ok so who wants to try my purchase order client out, I will explain what it does below, and although I doubt that it will help many of you, it would be nice to have many experts testing it so if your interested please PM me. Here is what it does: 1/ Links you directly to our database of products, this allows you to see pictures and specs as well as links for every product we sell, it also shows you your own pricing for each product, it does this by loading a small application on your desktop. 2/Allows us to guide you through our products we can make your screen move to the correct product so that you know exactly the product we mean 3/ Has text (like ICQ) Voice and Video support so as we are showing you the products we can talk or text you or view you, for free, no more expensive calls. 4/ Allows you to set pricing per product for yourself, for example you can set individual product margins or you could set a global percentage to operate from, and then when doing a quote for a customer all you do is choose the products you want then print it out as a quotation with your percentage added already, this makes doing a quotation very quick indeed, plus you have all the PDF's etc at your finger tips. 5/ Has an inbuilt currency converter so that you can set my prices to the prices for your currency 6/ Stock quantities can be pinged to see what stock levels are currently available, you can track all of your orders and it will record them, all RA's and repairs are traceable, and by just enetring a serial number you can see the remaining warranty periods. There is a lot more to it than that and unfortunately I cant set it to my current export pricing yet as this level is not yet in the database, so prices will look high at first until i can enetre the export price but ignoring prices you should get a good idea of how it works,, YOU WILL NEED TO BE A REGISTERED DEALER OR YOU WILL ONLY BE GIVEN RECOMMENDED RETAIL PRICES...WE DO NOT SELL TO RETAIL THIS IS JUST DEFAULT FOR THE APP! So if your interested then hay let me know and we will set you up to test it -

http://all the big names seem to provide great support, small names just want the sale then to move on. That is absolute Crapola..... In fact i would go as far as to say the opposite, larger companies have more customers, therefore offering less support.. Look I have used the 4ch AVtech range for some time now an only 1 has failed, You will get a load more features out of a Klatel unit but you will basically be getting the same device... The boards are very similar, just a little less well built.. Stability is fine.. mind you I have heard of issues with the 16Ch varieties, 4 ch only uses one chip so not as heavy a load and does not have to control the signal as much so is as safe as houses. For home use go for the AV TEch, if you want better remote features and all the bells and whistles then hay buy a Kalatel, but get ready to be massively ripped of on price. Personally I prefer PC but to get a stable one you need to spend good money so that may not be the option for you. Reputable companies..loosely translates as .....OVERHEADS therefore the product costs more. I can say that the Kalatel is however the second best of the Standalones that I have seen but it is WAY overpriced. As for support, there has been more complaints about GE's support on this forum than any other so that is hogwash! -

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please

I dont think either of those will do the job, I have a similar one to what Tom suggested here and they loose out on the conversion, The one Rory suggested is LCD and the stores that this person will be using these monitors in are going to have large 84cm Composite Monitors so using the LCD instead would not make it viewable from all angles as I need -
Tom, dont most newer high end Motherboards, have sata plugs built in these days? I would not call that a minor benifit at all, not in this country where it is always hot
-
Once again Right On the Money TOM! there are too many people building substandard systmes, this is why people like RORY can use the ol! "But a PC is not as stable" in reality , if you build a PC with good gear then it is indeed better made then any standalone as it has better parts. I have had only 4 or 5 Antec supplies ever die on me out of the multiple thousands we have sold, that does not include the ones that get a lighting strike or something like that.. i have noticed though that there are two types, one with twofans and a truewave and one that comes with their cases (which I might add are also excellently designed for DVR's). Far too often we have had to repair other peoples gear, and then the customer has said "Why woes it not done this way in teh first place" well that is usually becasue you complained about the price... it is the same as cameras, lets face it you can buy a Junky Taiwanese cam that has 480 TVL and you can buy a Japanese one and I know which i would prefer. The thing is that people just do not realise how much money they loose by wasted time...and phone calls and lost consumer confidence, just by saving a few bucks, I understand why they do it but, this does not justify it.

Got an email...
cctv_down_under replied to PKassab's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
yep thatsa geo, you can get OEM now or make your own skins, very simple, mine are black -
i am hopefully planning to be in Ireland in September
-
Yep yopur right, that is why we do not move many of them, the 25P is also made in Korea and the Wide Dynamic in Germany, we usually stick to the Japanese made ones, they have two day nighters and a wide dynamic, the cheaper Taiwanese one without Digital Display is actually pretty good, better than the Samsung and NOW around the same price. With Samsung you need to be carefull as there is Samsung Techwin and Samsung Electronics, both are very different in reliability stakes. Samsungs cameras actually aren't that bad for the prices, but the reliability of the Techwin range is not that good.

cctv_down_under replied to antdickens's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I would not have posted that here, that is illegal and Geo takes piracy verry seriously -
If it is a version 1 card, it will not support past version 5.4 of the software, to find out if it is version 1, look for an external dongle, if it is there it is a version 1 card, I can't remember seeing a 750 version 2 card ever so I doubt it very much.
-
I think it stands for Interline Transfer, they have two daynighters, a cheap one that is still excellent but not Digital, and a Fully programmable version, this is a fair bit more expensive, mind you the Wide Dynamic has dropped quite considerably, had the Rep here from Japan, just the other day, they have a new varifocal doem coming out and they have massivly dropped the price of the GZYCH25 camera, it is now cheaper than Samsung Techwin. I said many people in the forum say that it is expensive, but he says ony in US is it priced higher, Mate really I have sold thousands and thousands and thousands of these cameras and had about 10 faulty, they are very very well engineered indeed.
