Dollars to Doughtnuts
cctv_down_under replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I have seen at least two features and several graphics that have been added since I tested late last year, I think they have done 2 updates in the last few years, not as much development as Geo but you may not need features, do you need control room or PDA for example... hard to say because havent looked at it for a while -
Best 4 Channel DVR around with IP?
cctv_down_under replied to FredB's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I dont think any of those options would be under $600, we have got hold of a good new standalone that would be in that price range.. it comes from a company called AVTech, it is very cheap has inputs, alarms, motion detection and optional 2 Ch webserver, would be around that price for the webserver and the DVR. Also has VGA and Composite output and removable HDD -

Chance-I is limited in many many features compared to geovision, I do believe it is easier to follow though, the less features the easier it is to use the GUI, I would not consider the Chance-I on the same level as Geovision at this stage as so many things are missing from it but as a basic lower end option it is certainly a great product.. I would add that the Chance-I GUI is much prettier than Geo and has less to fit into its menu's and therefore is much simpler to use, we were going to sell it but we found the lack of features as the biggest problem. they run fairly stable too which is a good thing! -
Vendoma vs. Geovision and the Who's Who in the Biz
cctv_down_under replied to cctvexpert's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
For what it is worth, I have to say that the Chance-I (manufactorer) same as Vendoma is not bad at all really, a lot of people have switched from Geo to Chance-I but mainly because geo has been so slagged off on, without proof, There are many limitations with the Chance-I software last time a I checked but as far as I can see Geo gets a 8 out of 10 for software and a 3 out of 10 for business management and marketing. Vendoma in my opinion/Chance-I is about a 6 out of 10 for sofware, the GUI is really kinda cool and for management and marketing it gets about a 5. We tried the Chance-I card.. the major plus is they release Beta's for testing, sure I get them from Geo but you dont have to buy much to get it from them, I heard they were looking at SDK options and they have a nice GUI, all runs fairly smooth, there were a few interlacing problems, but patching them worked fine, so I assumed by now they would have fixed that. Long story Short.. Chance-I/ Vendoma arent a bad board at all really but the siftwrae is not up to Geo's standard especially the networking and the log program, they fall down on features but at least the card is satble and theya re a few dollars cheaper to import than Geo. Vendoma vs. Geovision and the Who's Who in the Biz

I have to admit that I did over step the bounds, but I have a personal hate for Vendoma, that stretches back a long way, So many US companies lie and pretend to be the manfactorer of products that they are not and so often I meet people who say they have nothing to do with such a company and infact they work either directly with them or for them. The reasons I do not like Vendoma is because I was invited to chat the the CEO but then found him trying to connect to my BOX!!! How pissed was I and then on top of that he resolved my I.P just to find out who I was, not by asking politely, pretty darn rude. Secondly they lied about their products and when I said it was Chance-I they said they wrote the software for them,,, they don't, then they manufactured the cards as well..More lies. I admit I went heavy handed but I still do think that he works for them, he was suttley trying to push their product without being honest about it. I am also very tired of having my dealers here try to buy of US companies because they state they have 300 staff only to find out they dont and then I am left with the support of the product, the problem is I cant ask someone if this is the card they bought from me or from US when they have already bought this product from me before, I just have to fix it at my expense. To anyone who thought I was rude...you were right and I apologise whole hartedly for everything that I have said...excepting that he works for them. I can be a bit full on but I am sick of the US dealers and their selling morals,(present company excepted) thats why i now will do it, I will do to them what they do to me...They state they will get better support in the US ..swear they can beat my prices, say they are huge and tell them they think we are not Legit!! I have had enough! I admit CCTV does not deserve it but anyone will tell you in this forum that I have helped many many people not just in here either, through my email that is listed...and when someone comes in that I know is praising a company that is full of crap and saying my product line is full of crap..without stating any reasons or examples I bite...big time.. Maybe I should stay away from this forum.. I am very productive indeed, I only post in at night when I go home or when I am on leave and I try to help where possible, however I can be a bit opinionated and I do see his point about scaring people off. My apologies -
ets bet is to see if they still have the invoice, this will give you a mainboard model and then check with the manufactorer.. GV250 and GV600 will work with a Via the rest wont, I would say if it is AMD it would be VIA but it may be SIS Chipset

Vendoma vs. Geovision and the Who's Who in the Biz

CCTV you are full of Crapola!, I have used the so called Vendoma support page and SUPPOSEDLY talked to the owner and lead programmer, Theya re so full of CRAPOLA that it is unbelievable, they first claimed that they make the boards, then the software then claimed they made the softwrae for many other companies, the problem was that although knowledgable, the lead programmer had no idea what a BT878 Chipset even was, I argued with him for a while telling him that it was a DiViS Chance-I board and software .. and I checked with Chance-I.. and then I pulled my puch, got him online and stated this in a chat.. "I am about to ask you a question before we proceed with ordering please take care before answering this question as I am currently taking screen shots of your answers.... Are you truley the manufactorer, do you have the source code and did you write the software?" Funny thing was that they said... " I have to go now! " SURPRISE SURPRISE.. My guess is that Vendoma are the old PC Surviellance mob that got burnt by Geovision as they were the original distributors in the US. My second guess is that you actually are a delaer or work for them.. or perhaps the lead programmer I spoke to.. I believe they have a SDK and they probably do testing but I doubt they have the source code, it's always convenient to state that you changed something with the source code when the Manufactorer sends you an advanced Beta... I mean I had version 6 of Geo way before it was released..as I am one of their testors. You glorify them like you would not believe and make statements about their company staff etc, therefore you must know them pretty well,,,,how about you tell us who you work for and show us your website if it exists, I will check your info but I bet its a public email address or not listed..hay use one of your dealers names if you like! That Smuck, sat their filling me with bull**** about what he had done to the sofware and he had no Idea I knew he was full of Crap! P.S what are the known faults of Geo as I would be very interested to know, I have seen limitations but not many faults and I have been selling them for a long time now?? P.S. I have always said there are very few manufactorers of the boards, just variations, maybe Vendoma import the boards and pay for the sofware but who knows.. Same goes for cameras... most of the major players are not manufactorers at all and 90% of products are made in Asia then rebadged for these companies. I knew Geo was not a manufactorer. the only true ones I know of to date are Avermedia... Comart and a few others that I wont mention. -
Spot On CCTV I have been trying to tell Rory this for ages.. he wont accept that the Kalatel is just a boxed board from Asia, We can get standalones for around $100 US 30Fps Realtime with option of $50 webserver, thats pretty cheap. As for programming your own Rory, you are dreaming...really dreaming... took us 6 months with two programmers just to geta Free BSD version up and running, sure it was great capture and with our own interlacing it was great but fact remains, by the time you develop 6 months of work and Bug fix it then get someone to do the GUI and remote software, you are 6 months behind in features, the problem is that even if you try to do your own you will fall behind, companies like Geo spend bucket loads on development so that this is the case, by the time everyone copies the last idea, they have a new one! It could be done in 6 months but only by a severe proffesionall locked in a room, trust me we tried!

And where is that from?

Ok here is strange one... I have a client that needs some special Rackmounted cases ...But I can not seem to find them anywhere.. This is what I need: 1/ The case needs to be back to front so that the BNC connectors from the cards are actually at the front of the case as well as the CD Drive 2/ There must be an On/Off/Reset switch at the front of the case and front USB as well as Mouse Plugs 3/ The case must be no longer than 41cm and Must be at least 3U.. prefer 4U, it should also accomodate for many HDD's up to at least 5 and must allow for mounting of many fans. Has anyone seen such a beast!!!
