Anybody know anything about VIDEOGATE DVR capture cards?
cctv_down_under replied to squale's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Your are talking about fields, some manufactorers count fields not frames there are two fileds in every frame and they are interlaced, it is impossible to do large resolutions on 16 cameras without hardware compression, that I am sure of! -

Can Geovision software or ANY software do this??
cctv_down_under replied to squale's topic in Geovision
Softwrae motion detection can trigger: An email with pictures. a telphone call with recorder voice. A pre set camera PTZ position An audible alarm Recording Sending video to another location for storage. pop up of video in full screen mode Our output to the GV relay box (not expensive and easy to set up) the box connects to your com port or 232 trough a converter. It means anything canbe hard wired to turn on our off from softwrae motion or the other way around ....hadware to software, as far as starting another process, you could cheat and make the apps, that run when motion is detected like sending the remote video activate another command simply by enetring your softwrae as ths .exex file name.. i think yuo would ven be able to change it in the INI file to run your program, however I haven't looked closely at how it integrates. As far as the web interface goes it is just Java HTML and Active X so modification is simple -

Does nayone know if there is a good screen AVI capture program about, i would like to record an audio voice and make a demo of the Geovision system to send to dealers, the problem is that most I have found compress the AVI recording so that when you put it onto CD it looks very bad and makes the Geo look like it performs slowly and not clearly. I would really like to make a good demo CD but there seems to be very little freeware options to do so

Magic Radar DVR Card
cctv_down_under replied to AVCONSULTING's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Bad choice of words, what I mean is that it has not had compression on it yet, actually in truth I think it is honest to say that the video stream is still composite and not digital untill it passes throught he PCI bus, but not sure on that and it matters not, it also depends on what camera inputs you put your cameras into, for example cam 1,5,9,13 may all be on one chip therefore staggering cameras accros unused chips makes for faster capture! -

PC based DVR vs. Standalone DVR – Pros & Cons.
cctv_down_under replied to SecureVision's topic in General Digital Discussion
Cmon rory, you can not say the Kalatel,s remote softwrae is aas good as Geo... Surely, I admit they are more stable and have lots of features for a STANDALONE but its not even a patch! -
Cool send us the link!

You will probably find that the cameras are not sending strong enough video signal due to not enough power being sent to the camera, this can even make a camer appear B/W on a DVR screen, Geovision software will constantly restart if you do not de-activate and limit the ports not used. In other words if you have a 16 camera DVR and only 14 cameras then if you do not both de-activate and limit the ports then it will reboot the software constantly. I would not be surprised to find out that it is a weak signal causing Geo to not think there is actually a camera there but I hope it is just a simple de-activation problem. Plug your VCR output to it and limit it to 1 port and play a video for an hour and see if it plays up. Also after de-activating and limiting the ports you need to restart Geo for it to take affect. Latsly two other things that can cause this: if you are usisng an SIS or VIA chip then it could be a compatabilty issue, let me also know if the camera is designed for cat5 or a converter has been used, it may be as simple as running local power to the cameras or usuing a dsitribution amplifier, also check to see that the powersupply is regulated and that you do not have ground loop as this can cause the same problem.
