CPU needed for 8 1080P IP Cameras
hasinarshad replied to mrted46's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Makes more sense to get a dahua 3208 nvr, you'll avoid a lot of hair tearing further down the line Only downside is that the nvr will record at a max for 2mp. -

Just a short clip of one of the 4 Dahua hdb3200 recording to dahua nvr 3204 Quality is even better when viewing the recordings over hdmi through the nvr. 1vSHRFeqrn0 -
Using a PC for recording CCTV is very unreliable and a terrible setup, all the windows updates, constant re-starts required, viruses, I personally wouldn't risk it. To start you off, You would need a multi-core high speed CPU to record at decent (25) fps and for that you would most likely need a new motherboard. PC HDDs are not made for 24/7 usage. 1 IP CAM @ 1080p @ 25fps puts out roughly 10mb of data a second, x4 cams = 40mb of data to be processed by the cpu and to be written to the hdd, this will soon malfunction your everyday hdd. I recently installed 4x 2mp dahua cameras in my shop and was glad to use a dahua nvr as all the parts are made for 24/7 usage, and it also gives me a peace of mind.

Dahua NVR 3204-P??
hasinarshad replied to eythor's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Ok, it´s just that they all have 4 Poe ports (3204/3208/3216) ? Yes all those models have only 4 poe ports, best to buy a PoE switch if you want to run more than 4 ip cams. -

CCTV solution assistance!
hasinarshad replied to iamvinh's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
This would be the case for any megapixel recording, a half an hour clip for 1 camera easily mounts to over 1.5gb when recording at 1080p resolution. -

I am currently in the process of installing a Dahua NVR 32016 and 4x dahua ipc-hdb3200c cameras at one site. From testing one of the cams, the image quality is superb! The cams came with 3.6mm lens and I would say they cover a very wide area From what i have been told I should be able to download recordings to my home computer using the Dahua PSS software but I haven't tried that yet. Cost of cctv equipment + poe switch + tv + other bits and bobs + cat5e wiring came to just over £1100. Excellent Value for money once I have everything installed. -
