  5. Hi I appreciate the common encoding method is h.264 ((which is the short name for MPEG-4 part 10 AVC) I need a system whether it be a computer based system with software or another form, that would enable the video file output to be in actual mp4 or AVI or any video file that is not codecs. Thanks
  6. Hi I desperately need the best NVR that will download the video in MP4 or AVC. The problem i Have at the moment is that it downloads in AVC(type of AVI) but I'm then having to convert. I need an NVR that will circumvent this problem.

  12. I have set up a new NVR (QVIS). The problem I have is that the software i'm using to connect remotrely doesn't seemingly allow me to save onto USB attached to the NVR. Does anyone have any advise. Might I need to buy software?

  15. Hi All Please HELP. I'm seeking some advice to which solution I can go down. I have 32 sites where I'm looking to have between 4-8 IP camera's set up in each. I only need to remotely access the file recording so I can download onto a seperate hard drive. Just to reiterorate I simply need to upload video recordings. I'm thinking I will have a NAS drive at each site that I can connect to remotely to do this. Please let me know if this is what you would do and if not what would you recommend?
  16. I will be uploading 1 hour clips at any one time. I may on occasion need to upload 5 hours from any one site a day! I will however ensure the upload speed at the site is as good as I can get hold of!
  17. Yeah. And at my viewing station I will want to save onto my own hard drive
  18. Thanks for insight! I have no experience or intention to build computer as this is all complicated enough for a novice! Can I ask how long it tool you to upload the biggest size file you had too! I will need quite fast upload!

    Multi-locale cloud-hosted NVR viable?

hi all I have some bandwidth concerns of my own you might be able to advice on. We will have a similar number of sites and will have either an NVR or NAS at each site recording 12 hours a day. We will need to access that remotely on a few occassions a day only to upload footage from the hard drive. How long would it take to take to download 4 hours worth of footage for example. The recordings will be done at 25FPS on HD
  20. Thanks for advice Razor. Do you live in the UK by any chance. So We have 30 sites. Each of which we will have an NVR/NAS. This is so we reduce the need for bandwidth. Just to be clear we will only need to upload files remotely from that NVR/NAS. So hopefully this won't use up to much bandwidth. The reason I was thinking of getting a synology NAS with inbuilt Surveillance manager is because you can add lots of memory to it and we will need a lot and because you can set up back up hard drive on it. (Raid) If not which NVR would you recommend. What are your thoughts? Regards Baz
  21. so to confirm With your recommendation of VMS. Does their still need to be a NVR at each site? I'm looking to reduce hardware costs. However I would intially like to go down the route of having lower nedeed bandwidth at each site. If I were to download footage remotely from NVR. Where will the internet need to be good? Is it at the site with NVR or the remote site where I'm downloading file
  22. Hi Guys Please Help I have multiple sites that I will be looking to Set up NAS or NVR standalone system. I will only need to remotely access files. When I say I access I more specifically mean I need to upload certain recordings and save onto hard drive. Can Someone please give me their thoughts on what they would do. Thanks
  23. If Someone can provide more useful advice it wouldn't go a miss.
