I have a Hikvision DS-7208HQHI-F2/N & everything is working as it should be the only problem I have is that I want 24h recording on all channels & be able to set up motion detection that will leave a mark on playback if there has been movement, I can set up motion detect or continuous play but not both together. any help would be appreciated.

I have just purchased a Hikvision Turbo HD 3.0 DVR DS-7208HQHI-F1/N & I have got everything set up fine but one problem, on playback if I use a monitor connected to the DVR I can playback up to X16 but on my PC it will only playback at normal speed & if I try to go any faster it freezes. Any advice would be appreciated.

It has always worried me that if I had a break in & my DVR was taken so is my HD & my evidence, has anyone any suggestions for automatic back-up to another piece of equipment?

Any thoughts on the Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P/A 8 Channel NVR

=Thank you for your reply"brebenac" I will try to digest that & give it a go. Would I need an NVR with the same amount of channels as my DVR?

Hi. What is your reason for e sata. You have a limit on cable length. To record away from the DVR in case it gets stolen, ive tried the FTP & a WD mycloud route with no success. If this is not a good idea please advise. What dvr to go for?

If I buy a DVR with e-sata would I be able to put a small HD in the unit & perhaps a 4TB HD in an external HD & record directly to the external one? if so any recommendations what DVR to go for in the 16 channel range?
-
Hi. That unit would be a waste of your money .. Not only old and discontinued but also unsupported. Hello Tom, thanks for the reply, if not this one any suggestions preferably one with e-sata.

Hi, do any members know anything about the Samsung SRD1673, I know is has been discontinued but it looks like the machine that will fit my needs, it is one of the only machines that has e-sata but some sellers are selling it for £1300 & others as low as £500 all with 1TB HD, are there any known issue's with this machine?

Has anybody used a Western Digital My Cloud to automatically back up their CCTV DVR successfully?

I have a QVIS 16 Channel Zeus Apollo 2TB DVR, ever since I have had it ,it has concerned me that if I had a break-in & they stole my DVR any recording of the thief would be gone, I was looking to buy a Seagate Expansion 2 TB,External HD or a Western Digital My Book 2TB HD & plug these into a USB & hide the external drive away from the DVR, alternatively could I take the HD out of the machine, put it in a HD case & plug that into a USB & hide that away. Does any of this sound possible, Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a QVIS 16 Channel Zeus Apollo 2TB DVR, I have had it all set up for the past 3 years & can view everything fine, I use Web Service 2.0 to view on my PC & IDMSS HD Lite to view on my Ipad, something that has concerned me for long time is if I have a burglary & my DVR is stolen I won't to be able to see who stole it, IDMSS have recently updated there system to a very easy to use system which automatically records from midnight to midnight but when midnight arrives it starts again & the previous 24 hours recording is deleted, is there any way I can back this up using cloud storage?

Could I unplug the HDD in the DVR & extend the cable to a secure place & then reattach the HDD. Is this possible?

Thanks RY for your advice.
