Guys- I bought a Zyxel 1100-16p switch that has very noticeable fan noise. I also purchased a Zyxel 1100-8p switch that doesn't appear to have any fan noise. I don't hear anything. Can anyone with a Zyxel 1100-8p switch let me know if the switch has a fan and if you can hear it on yours? The 16p is very noisy and I can still hear the fans in a closet. The 8p I can't hear squat. Thanks

Kawboy, I did my best to set the lense to 3.6 mm to get an apples to apples comparison. The camera has two screws. One for setting the 2.8mm-12mm and one for focusing it. Once it is set via the screws it's fixed. -

Sorry guys! I'm busy with my kids and can not monitor this like you Pros. I read all the questions and listed them below with my answers. This post is not just for adverstising. If it were I wouldn't be just answering your questions now. Below are the questions I saw and here are my answers. QUESTION ASKED 1. Does the software clue as to the manufacturer? I'm new to the CCTV world but do not see no manufacturer names on it. 2. It must tell you what android or apple app to use? I use the Dahua NVR and use the iDMSS app on my iphone to view my 2100's and the ESC-1. I did not try testing it without the NVR and have no plans to because I use the Dahua NVR-3216. 3. How much as the ESC-1? The price is $199.99. I paid $179.99 with the "SAVE20" code. 4. Think this is just a post to advertise. Not true. I'm new to CCTV and bought both to compare because I bought my NVR from Empire. Since they stated I could return it after comparing within 60 days, I thought I'd compare them. Was looking for honest feedback on the quality between the two since I'm new. -

The ESC-1 works with the Dahua NVR and I did all my tests with the camera connect to the NVR. It does have it's own software with a lot of features but I have not played with the camera software yet. -

Also, all videos above were done with cameras set to default values. Does anyone have any recommendations for setting the 2100 settings to obtain a better picture? -

I've finally finished my review for comparing the Dahua 2100 with the ESC-1 camera from Empire Security. All the comments here are my opinion but I'm new and look forward to more expert advice in terms of the video comparison. I felt the video quality of the ESC-1 was sharper during the day than the 2100. Compare the white house in the vidoes below. The colors on the ESC-1 are more vivid and not as washed out as the 2100. It also appeared to provide a clearer image of the long distant day shots of houses 700 ft away. I was impressed with the image quality and love the fact that I can adjust the lense and focus. In regards to the night vision, the ESC-1 definately provides longer distant viewing in the dark. It provides a more vivid and clearer picture than the 2100. However, I notice a bit more distortion in the picture with the ESC-1 at night. I'm not sure if that is a result of the brighter picture it provides compared to the less lit 2100 that appears more washed out. Based on my tests, I feel the image quality of the ESC-1 is better than the 2100 and in addtion it provides the ability to adjust the camera from 2.8-12mm and the focus. Below are the videos comparing the two. Let me know your thoughts. NOTE: Front porch sis 40 ft wide and had cameras ****ed more towards the yard versus straight down the porch ESC1- night porch FW2100 - night porch ESC1- Day porch fw100 - Day porch NOTE: Houses across the street are 700 ft. away ESC1 - Day Front Yard fw100 - Day Front Yard -

Guys- I got back from vacation and did several tests last night comparing the ESC-1 with the fw2100. I'd like to post all my results at once but need to figure out how to pull my day/night videos off the Dahua NVR3216. Before I go digging to figure out how to do this, can anyone point me in the right direction for how to pull the recorded video off the NVR into a viewable format for everyone to view? Thanks -
Guys- I'm ready to mount my HFW2100's cameras outside under the eves of my home. I have some ideas but it seems like it will be a pain in the rear to mount these. Was wondering if anyone could tell me how they have mounted these under the eves to hide the wires completely? Thanks

Good idea Sifter. I stuck to my plan. It wasn't such a big deal to remove the soffitt and add a 2x4 for support. Two are up and look fine.

Empire Security RMA? (SOLVED)
th111447 replied to Dâniel Fraga's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Empire is an exellent re-seller and you will have no issues getting taken care of. -
Yep...I want to do a clean looking job one time. I see the only way to do this is by removing soffit and adding support. Unless somebody can provide a better method, I plan to do these steps to conceal all wires and have a solid board to mount camera to. 1. Remove soffit in area camera will be mounted. 2. Add a 2x4 In that location 3. Put soffit back in place 4. Drill hole thru soffit and 2x4 5. Fish cat wire out hole 6. Connect camera 7. Push all wires thru hole 8. Attach camera to 2 x4 with three screws 9. Add silicone around it A lot of work but it will look good and come down

Namkcit I reviewed your link and believe I referenced it above. Do you prefer the esc1 over the Dahua? I'm currently on the road going on vacation. Plan to finish testing whe I get back. Thanks for your feedback. -
Well there is no support under the eve. I was attempting to see how others add the support. I assume the best is to take the fascia down and add a 2x4, put it back together and then drill hole and fish wire... Was hoping somebody had a better idea.

Hi Guys- I'm new to CCTV and recently purchased an NVR-3216 and one Dahua Fw2100 to test. I have the camera temporarily setup in my living room and when I turn off all the lights the night vision is very poor. I have a Foscam 8910 that blows this camera away in night vision mode. I love everything about it but the main reason I purchased it was for monitoring at night. Is there a way to adjust the quality via the NVR to get better night vision on the Dahau? Any suggestions on how to improve the night vision?

Sorry Kawboy for the late respone. The link is on Empire now. They had ran out of stock and removed it until new one's arrived. They try to be fair and allow everyone a shot at buying there cameras and removed it from the site until the new inventory arrived. Below is the link to the camera but I worked out everything. [MOD: Removed link does not work] -

Appreciate the input guys. I've been working with Kyle at Empire and will continue to test this new camera out when I get back from Spring Break vacation. I've really enjoyed working with Empire Security and they have been very supportive of the system I'm attempting to build. I highley recommend them if you are interested in Dahua or the new models they are bringing to the surveillance world. Very reasonable prices and excellent support. -

I did a test last night and the night vision appears to be better than the Dahua. The day vision appears to have more vivid colors but doesn't seem as clear as the hfw2100. I plan to do some more tests but between working and taking care of the kids, I only get to mess with this at night except for the weekends. I'll see what I can come up with before Monday for you guys. I'm leaving on Monday for the kids spring break and hope to do some more in depth testing over the weekend. I'll also test out the motion on it. -

I have the Dahua NVR and both cameras work on it. The new ESC-1 has an interface very similar to Foscam but it works fine on the Dahua NVR. I currently can access both cameras I'm a technical guy so I'm not worried about support besides firmware if the product does not function properly. I currently have the NVR running and can access both cameras via IDMSS. -
Dahua FW2100 Night Vision
th111447 replied to th111447's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Guys- I feel pretty foolish but I am a newbie. My issue was I the reflection from where I sat the camera for testing. I turned all the lights off tonight in the living room, punched out the holes in my firewall to view it on my iphone and moved the camera up in the air and it looked great to me. I think because I had it sitting on top of my entertainment system which is bright white it was conflicting with the IR's. I'm impressed with the little camera. I've got a new model from Empire coming which supposedly has 40m IR versus 20m with a 2.8 - 12mm zoom lense to compare to this camera. I'm going to compare the two and then buy the rest. Anyone know if this new model at Empire is also a Dahua? Thanks
