Any reason to use the analogue video output?
FishFish posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Any reason to use the analogue video output? Just wondering if this has any advantage over the digital output. I.e. outputting from the analogues to a video card. -
Battery outdoor PIR with IR light?
FishFish replied to FishFish's topic in General Digital Discussion
Many thanks for the reply, those look a bit more advanced than I was thinking. I was thinking there are many battery PIP lights, but hoping there may be some with IR light. I don't need wireless. But 2 year battery would be awesome! Senario. My IP cam monitors an area but normal movement detection is difficult due to bushes and trees. When I place my trail camera in the area it detects local movement with its PIR and films with its IR light. But, when it does this it is very easy for me to see from motion detection on the IP camera because the trail camera lights the area. I don't actually need the trail cam to be so advances as to film at all, I just need it to have an IR light. If I can find some simple, battery PIR IR lights I can buy a number of them and have them in various locations for several IP cameras I have. I've had wireless PIR before, but along with all the other network stuff, it gets too much fuss. My motion detection has found nothing interesting for a month now, I last nigh I put the trail cam in the area, and even though it was windy, it took me just a few seconds to see the the trail camera had illuminated a badger and a pine marten! Which I had been hoping for ( they used to be out there). All that without turning on any alarm from the camera and without going out to the camera. Just because the IR light was easily spotted by one of my IP cams. If I had more localised battery PIR IR lights, I could set them in other areas, and also where owls come. It's a basic thought that should not be expensive and fairly low tech, I just wondered where to look for such a thing or if I need to but cheap battery PIR lights and change the led's to IR... -
Does anyone make a battery outdoor PIR with IR light? E.g. so I can have a camera overlook an area and then it's easy to see if the IR is activated on the PIR (out in the area). I have some IP cameras and I have a trail camera, the combination is good for wildlife, but I don't need the full functionality of the trail camera, I just need it to light up when it detects motion. I was thinking I could have several simpler PIR IR lights in the area that the IP cameras look at. Hopefully the IR would light for say 30 seconds or so.

Hikvision 4K bullet cam - DS-2CD4A85F-IZ(H)(S)
FishFish replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If the Hik and the Ambarella S2 are both using the same innards (eg Sony 1/1.7") then I googled and found http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.242.Udfbpy&id=43556727991&ns=1&abbucket=0#detail ca. $740 excluding the lens and freight... So I'm starting to think that the price quoted by you KOB is looking likely! -

That sounds an unrealistic price! Way too high. Keep an eye on Ambarella and others. -
Hikvision 4K bullet cam - DS-2CD4A85F-IZ(H)(S)

It's certainly a lot clearer and higher res. You can see the power cable in the 4k one, but just have to guess it's there in the 1080p. Hope you get the time to post some more video! What was the lens zoom set on in the 4K? -

Is that this one? : http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-TS-2CD2052-I-cheapest-outdoor-waterproof-5-0-MP-15fps-onvif-ip-camera-support/32273953711.html I've checked the link, "Likvision" for the manufacturer lol!! Something doesn't seem right with it, firmware doesn't look too good and the low light performance seems off. Hopefully Hikvision will release one which I'd deffo be interested in. Not 20fps at 5mp. Just 10fps. That's not a new spec! -

4K is so yesterday, see today's announcement :)
FishFish replied to ericq's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Impressive, but I am only after 100m. What is most concerning is that that looks like the sigmonster, and I have one but with an olympus 4/3 mount. I wonder what the sensor size is on the camera, and if I could get an adaptor or if I'd have to have it remounted. I also cant think how I'd hang it on the wall! -

Thanks guys, It will be interesting to see when the specs come out! I have 4 off cheap 10fps 5mp now, but it's just not clear enough. Fine for badger and pine marten, but the owl identification is a problem. Not sure I would call 2fps "video".... -

Any idea what the fps is on these? I'm trying to identify owls at about 100m at night and they can be reasonably fast. Any idea of the pricing? -
Color Night vision from Sharp
FishFish posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2843032/sharps-color-security-camera-shoots-in-the-dark.html I was actually hoping that there would be some 4k night vision turning up soon, but I noticed the color one and it could be interesting. Maybe one day I can have 4k color 60 fps with 100m -
What video card for Axxon Next with 5mp cameras?
FishFish posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, I am new here. I have 6 new 5mp IP cameras (10fps), for night time wildlife spotting (e.g. badger, fox, deer). Running win 8 64bit, with i7 @3.4GHz and 16 GB ram. I was trying Axxon Next as it recognized the cards as ONVIF, but I don't have a separate video card and just viewing the 6 cameras maxes out my CUP (all 4 cores). Can someone recommend a video card to take the load of my CPU? -
What video card for Axxon Next with 5mp cameras?
FishFish replied to FishFish's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
After a lot of fiddling, a new Radion HD 7850, adding liquid cooling so I could overclock the CPU from 3.4 to about 4.5GHz, overclocking the graphics card, and a few reinstalls, new drivers for the card, and installing the new version 3.1 from Axxon... I was still getting my CPU eaten at 80-90+%! Then, a breakthrough! When I added my 5mp cameras as ONVIF, they each showed up in Devices with "Telemetry" and "Microphone", both functions were enabled by default. I just disabled these one after the other and the CPU and the Apphost.exe process went down each time:), I only have 4 of the cameras running at the moment (not due to Axxon) but have CPU at 20-30% with constant recording and several line crossings enables in the detectors. It's had me fooled a few times, but this time it seems to be working. It is an excellent programme Still a lot to learn, and I wonder what it would cost for the Forensic search feature. I hope to have all 6 cameras running next weekend. Many thanks for the input of everyone, it stopped me from giving up on it!
