  1. I don't use the Swann app. I use the hikvision app which is identical to the lorex app, which the Swann app is forked from. I'll keep the Swann they have been awesome support wise
  2. The swann can do all of these...im pretty sure it can do the mirror recording
  3. according to swann you can put cameras on the LAN...all though they havnt actually replied on how to do it. but in their pc software there in NIC 1 and NIC 2
  4. I don't think 'ol Zikronix really flashed that baby fellas. My weekend encompassed the following starting friday: Installing two car alarms, yard work, diassembling and replacing a timing cover gasket (disassembling the front of the engine), water pump, oil pan gasket (gotta un bolt the tranny to do that). Painting my dvr lock box, and replacing at least two of the cameras that have soft sides. Your lucky i even found time to flash it. LOL...but alas here is the screen shots from the interface after upgrade...check it out here http://imgur.com/a/lCi00 NOW GO FLASH AWAY
  5. I thought about building my own. But then it came into, support, stability, ease of use...at the same time i still might venture down that road.
  6. Lorez has a bad habbit of putting out four packs not two packs...so lets see what happens.
  7. It was just a qucik dirty...i wasnt going to take it back out side and remount it.I figured Id just take some pics of my self.
  8. Already being discussed here. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=35528 Its missing some features of the swann
  9. That video came from the hikvision software I wasn't going through all the testing since the camera was flaky I decided to flash it to help people on this forum. I'm using my cameras with Swann nvr so I could care less. This is my first camera system and it works pretty good for my needs as it is. And if it wasn't for this forum I probably wouldn't have even know that the camera had a soft side or who the oem for the cameras were. I work in IT and I deal with higher end systems but I'm not a professional.
  10. I'm not going to do that some one else can... I'll hook the camera back up though and show the screen
  11. Oh no. I did the hard work...talking you into it! I already said Id do it when i replaced the camera lol
  12. Since I did the hard work. Can one of you guys that flashes your camera, If you think you have the soft right side can you mess with the settings to see if you can pull that out.
  13. You can flash the swan to hikivision firmware and get 3mp. yes....it has finally been done. Yes...yes you can...See the swann thread. I had a camera that was flaky I replaced it flashed it before I took it back and took some video. Be warned flashing the firmware could and connecting it to the swann dvr or lorex dvr could break something else.
  14. Im not going to go thorugh all that...but there you guys go!.. Nice work bro. Nice friggin' work. " title="Applause" /> I would highly suggest you take that firmware and stash it some where because hikvision could pull it. I would love to flash all mine. But im not going to because I don't want to cause some weird ass problem with their dvr.
  15. Im not going to go thorugh all that...but there you guys go!..
  16. ALL HANDS ON DECK!!! " title="Applause" /> LET THE FLASHOLICIOUSNESS BEGIN! Still got the soft right side on this camera though....and the camera still reports as a swann im going to go plug it in my dvr and see what it says lol http://youtu.be/scgCr0rf7Kg DVR sees the cameas. Quality doesn't look any better or worse...Don't know if that's good or bad. Video was taken indoors. at 2048x1556 @ 3073KBPS
  17. BINGO!!!!!!!!! In resolution I now have three options. 720P, 1080P, and 2048x1536.... STANDBY gonna try to compare to the new untouched camera
  18. Ok so the firmware says it flashes, it reboots like it flashes, but it doesn't actually flash. So im sure theres a bit flipped in the firmware (no surprises here) if we had the swann firmware we could decompile and flip the bit accordingly. EDIT: Wait...that firmware I downloaded, is the same version firmware that's on the swann...I just noticed that. Its possible it could be a different build from the swann. The ftp says DS-2CD2xxx_Base_Firmware_V4.0.9 130106.zip The hikvision software reports my new swann camera as 4.0.9build 130106 v4.0 build 121228 Stand by let me investigate some more.
  19. Flashing now. EDIT: Weird...it says it took and I rebooted the device...but it doesn't seem to have really took. Trying again stand by
  20. Ok Im going to be taking down one of my fuzzy cams and putting up a new one. Im going to flash it with the hikvision software. So give me a bit
  21. If it was 64 bit it could take advantage of the entire 64bit architecture. The app would run faster use less memory, use the native instruction set of the processor and the OS. It would be fighting with other potential 32 bit applications for memory, or processor time. It would make a HUGE difference.
  22. OMG shifty bastards. I totally read that like they intended it to be read instead of actually reading it.
  23. Well that was disappointing to find out that blue iris is only a 32 bit app. That means no matter what it can only utilize 4GB ram. So if you were to build your own dvr would could get away with 12 GB easy in the sytem
  24. Are you saying the lorex are locked at 1.3mp? Even though they say 3 mp
  25. Looks like there are some differences. Still gonna pick one up and compare it to the Swann. I'm really interested in the camera settings. The Swann cameras are locked at 2.1 I think and even then the Swann nvr only allows 2.1 so I'm interested to see the differences
