  1. Man that e32 really performs at night after looking at the picture on the phone. I gotta find a dome that has that kinda quality at night for about the same price. I want to move from bullets to domes. The e82 looks soft. Is that ir bouncing off the dome, softness in general, lens, wdr....why is it so much softer.
  2. How would you say the d82 compared to the e72 dome in lowlights sensitivity, how would you say it compares with the lorex domes
  3. so the D camera might actually be better picture quality due to its lack of wdr, but the one with wdr may or may not improve low light /high and low contrast situations at the cost of picture quality.
  4. Good to know. The D82 doesnt have WDR according to acti, so it would be interesting to see how it performs, one could assume that the E82 might peform better
  5. So that leads to the next question. Do you think the varifocal with its 1.4 FSTOP and the supposed tighter viewing angle is better than the fixed 2.0 with its wider viewing angle, im looking at basic WDR for both model types.
  6. I dont think its worth the cost difference
  7. There is a plugin for the mac...i found it some where....and yes i had both the lorex and swann and they were both loud.
  8. And that baffles my mind..spec wise the internals are better than the lorex...and the lorex is just as loud...yet it has great reviews....doesnt make any sense
  9. Im happy with the swann...however I desire more and am paranoid about the bullets getting damaged (Freakin Thugs!) I've been looking at the acti e74 3MP(complicated light) and the acti e73 5MP (day and night). I would build a pc and use their acti pc nvr. The question is these cameras run about the same price. I have pretty decent light around my house at night, and the swann wdr when enabled made a difference in my dark and light areas during the day, helped a little at night but the noise was bad. I have a hard time believing that the acti WDR is worse than the swans. So with that being said. Ive been leaning toward the 5MP cameras. At 5mp @ with 40% quality Im looking at potential identification at 14Ft and 12ft @ 30% (according to their calculator) The swann system with at cameras ran 1700.00, going with the acti with 9 of those domes doubles the price! So im asking about your thoughts and opinions?
  10. I don't use PIR sensors so in my case that's a non issue.
  11. Thank you...that's great. I cant wait for the night shots. Can you take some night shots in low light. Im looking at ditching my swann system and going with acti.
  12. I think you need a camera with video analytics to do what you want to do, I think
  13. I am still running the nvr. I havnt looked at the camera lately...ill check it out some time this week.
  14. ok that's cool...im sure those are nice and spendy
  15. I would verify to make sure that you don't have soft video
  16. Any source that references this. As a member has flashed his NVR and is having an unknown issue. Yes flashing the swann, and a previous lorex I had caused this. its documented on their website and you need to use the sadp tool form hikvision to get the unique password, however they wont help you cause its not an oem nvr
  17. it is the same however the hikvision is only in Chinese and the cameras are still flashed with a lorex custom firmware, and even after flashing them they report as lorex. additionally if you flash the nvr firmware there is a password recovery step you must go though that requires a call to lorex and hikvision wont help you out directly.
  18. The bullets are the same...however it appears the lorex domes have a better picture.
  19. So hence the 3MP being better in low light yea I would like some 1/2 sensors....for cheap
  20. I was not able to open the page, but I'll assume from the URL it's that 8 port 60W injector that a few people have mentioned. I'm guess you should be able to put 6 cameras on it as you'll reach the 60W limit before using all 8 ports with this camera. You do realize you'll need patch cables and a switch or were you planning to plug cameras directly into your router? It's better to just get a PoE switch, less entanglement of wires and one less outlet needed. I paid $107 for 16 port PoE switch with full power on each PoE port. Yea it's the 8 port 48V 60W injector. I plan to plug 2 cameras right into my router. I am afraid 48V is too high? I heard some people mention this camera uses 12V. Its fine if your concerned here is the spec on POE http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_over_Ethernet Here is the part you are interested in
  21. What poe switch did you buy?
  22. you can buy it from amazon and others...but I buy it local from the bug and weed mart usually cause its actually cheaper
  23. I promise you cykick will not let you down!
  24. DO NOT BUY THE ARESOL. LOL Cykick is a professional grade product, maybe illegal in your state for un licensed people to possess (doubtful, but they always say that) If you spray, spray a kinda fine mist, try to spray the camera body and mounting shaft and a circle around it. IF you live in a hot, humid, or wet location. you will need to do it monthly for the first three months. Then every other month. Unless it rains a couple times a month, then monthly. If you decide to use it on your house in general. Spray a kinda coarse mist, 2ft up the wall and 2ft out. supplement with delta gard granules (after you lay the granules go over them with a light spray of water In the winter unless it snows. Every two months is usually ok. Once again Supplement with the granules. if you spray in the house. fine mist across thresholds in side and out and on top of the thresholds. fine mist along the base boards/floor. spray underneath fridge and stove. DO NOT SOAK CARPET. If you have a baby dilute to 1.5 oz per gallon, and spray inside...DO NOT SPRAY close or around their toys. You can spray the bottom of their crib. The say its non toxic after it drys...Im not about to go lick the floor and find out you can also use Suspend SC which is the same stuff as the granules, so you usually don't want to use them together. Source: Buddy used to do pest control on the side!
  25. And this is why I think this product is going to deliver. Its good to know that the 5MP requires more light than the 3MP...but why is that. Also do you know if these are using sony exmor sensors...they are extremely good at low light
