  1. So how is that going to work when the camera cant see anything because its dark? Magic!
  2. Why do these have an option for 50 or 60 Hz? They aren't analogue cameras, does anyone know why there is a setting?
  3. The camera is POE. Use a network switch that has POE built in. Use the SADP windows tool to set the IP address, no need to change the PC ip address.
  4. That is how we use TFTP to install the English firmware into a Non-English camera.

  6. Refresh or clear browser cache.
  7. On my chromebook, all four video options showed up, and none worked. It was a dream I know.
  8. 5.1 beta, from the US site. Do you have VLC and its plug ins installed on your PC?
  9. On this latest beta software that I installed on one camera, on the liveview page, there is a pull down, on my windows PC it lists WebComponents / Quicktime / VLC and MPEG. I do have VLC installed on the PC, I don't have quicktime. The VLC selection works really nice, 16x9 ratio, no need to select any ratio. But once you leave that page and come back, you have to select VLC again. Maybe they're working on this. Quicktime and MPEG wouldn't show anything for me. I shall try it on a chromebook later on today. I hope that they transition this change to the NVR too.
  10. I have many 5.0.x cameras that already work great under Firefox and Chrome... With the ActiveX plugins? I want to be able to use them on Linux and a chromebook.
  11. This link might help you in the future, quicker. ftp://hikfirmware:Hikvision123@ftp.hikvisionusa.com
  12. They are getting the insects, disable the IR, or get a more expensive camera with invisible IR light. Or add an external IR motion activated floodlight.
  13. I hope one day these camera makers will get rid of the need for Microsoft IE ActiveX controls.
  14. Use the search, it has been mentioned 456 times, maybe more on here. Almost the same here. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=36822
  15. Why buy it if its an unknown? I see this so often on this site, I don't understand.
  16. I get similar lines, not like that though. I have the gain set to 75%. This is in firmware v5.0.5, not in the one you used.
  17. slow down the frame rate from 30 per sec to 15 per sec, the night time flying particles will be reduced.
  18. Was there motion? If there was, then that is why it was detected. On the Hikvision based NVRs you can decide how much space to dedicate to a single camera, so that it doesn't use up all the NVR's space.
  19. This Lorex (Hikvision re-badged) has 9 cameras, from Costco, $2k. http://www.costco.com/Lorex-16-Channel-Full-HD-NVR-Security-System-with-3TB-HDD-and-9-1080p-Cameras.product.100087415.html
  20. You can set the IP address using the IVMS tool.
  21. http://www.synology.com/support/tutorials_show.php?lang=enu&q_id=566
  22. Did you reset and install the latest firmware? Post another video, longer than a few seconds. None of mine do this.
  23. I would advise against a single camera, put at least two for when one camera fails.
  24. Increase noise reduction to 100%, do not enable WDR as it make even more noise at night. With the latest firmware, V5.0.5+, play with the gain value, I have mine at 75. You can update the Lorex cameras to the latest Hikvision firmware. [see elsewhere on this forum]
  25. After having two of their cameras, the software is buggy, they just aren't interested in fixing their firmware. Before it is fixed, they bring out another model with bugs, and stop making the old one.
