    HikVision DS-2CD2112-I flashing at night

What is the 'Sensitivity' setting that you're using? Try setting that to 'low' to see if will stop it switching to day time as much. You can also set a schedule if all that fails. Your street is very bright, that it is why it thinks it is daytime.

'Switch Time' what is that setting you have? This is the time it looks to change from day to night to day to night, it looks like yours is switching because of the street lights that are bright. Try increasing that to 60 seconds. Or try setting 'Day/Night Switch' to day time all the time.

Try changing the switch over time to a higher value, 30 seconds maybe longer. What is it now?
  4. I have no issues with cameras on the external LAN connection, both Lorex(hikvision) and Vivotek. I haven't tried any ONVIF cameras. When I did the firmware, I did perform a reset to defaults, try that.
  5. For this camera, did you select the ACTi camera type? Did you manually edit one of the 8 cameras, set it to manual, enter the IP address, camera type? Or use the search , I found the search method not able to enter the camera anymore, as all 8 slots are taken up by default. I had to edit a slot manually. I use all my cameras on the LAN (none-POE switch) no problem with this firmware. On the local UI, there is a ping command that will allow you to test the connection to the cameras or devices from the NVR.
  6. Joey, Swann says that there are hardware differences, and therefore the old (mine) cannot record at 3 MP via firmware upgrade. [Edit] - He also stated that the 3 MP is at 15 fps. Jim Just got the "revised" version in. Board and processor is identical. Ill check the cameras, and firmware later tonight. Pretty sure its just a firmware deal. I would've guessed that too.
  7. For the 2 cameras that were plugged into the switch, what happens if you do not connect that poe-switch to your LAN? Do they still work? How were the cameras configured, admin/12345? The NVR does not assign the cameras using DHCP, it uses the Hikvision protocol, it doesn't use tcp/ip to configure them, at least initially.
  8. Good stuff, glad you got it working again. It is important to wipe the webcomponents from your pc, as as you found it can hang the camera web login. It didn't seem to like a mix/match of v5.0 camera firmware and old NVR firmware, they seem to want to have both new or both old pairings. I'm running the latest 2.3.4, I have tried other version listed on the Hikvision USA site too. But the 2.3.4 is the same on both sites. So with 2.3.4 are you able to use any camera connected to the NVR-POE-Switch? I couldn't, not unless I plugged one of those into my LAN, which quickly messed up my whole network. Tried that several times. Did you notice how all 8 camera IP addresses are listed on the NVR web page now, even when one isn't installed. They certainly did change things.
  9. Let us know what they say Jim. Even though mine can use the 3MP, I still use the 1080p, suits my needs better.
  10. The other week they had two versions on their website. Maybe there is a firmware update from swann directly that brings it inline with the hikvision firmware capabilities?
  11. As of this post it is in stock again. I have seen it go to out of stock twice. I ordered one on the 5th and it still shows only "order received" with no shipping. I hope I get one. Edit: It is out of stock again, 3rd time. Strange. Costco does that, there seems to be about a week delay between them updating the stock status on their website.
  12. How are the cameras connected via daisy chained switch to the built in POE switch? or via the LAN port? The POE ports are 100 Mbps, the LAN is 1Gbps port, on my smaller model. On the latest firmware for a lower powered model, the number of streams on the NVR were reduced to 2 from 3. It could be the same with your NVR.
  13. There is a meter on the local NVR UI and in the iVMS app to see network utilisation.
  14. I assume that you have powered off and on, and still no luck? As bad as it sounds, I'm glad that you had the same issue as me, to confirm the problems. It is possible that the admin account has now been deleted from your system. To verify this, hook up a local monitor and mouse, on the account user id pulldown will now list no user ids. I'm guessing that none are listed anymore. So you need to get a reset code from HikvisionUSA. First use the SADP/iVMS app, scan for devices, the NVR will be listed with cameras (if on the LAN). There is a date column, listed will be most likely 1970-1-1, if it is some other date in the future, reboot the NVR, look at the date again. It should eventually be 1970. With that date and the serial number of the NVR, send them to support, ask for the reset code. They will respond within a day. See my previous posts about which serial number to send to them. [http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=227863#p227863] Once you have that code, enter it into either SADP/iVMS. You will now be able to go back and forth between those firmware versions listed. The one next to the newest will be give you an error about not being able to update, ignore that error, as it gives that always. Let us know.

    Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I

So does someone want to PM me with entry-level pricing on this POS [piece of software] so I will know if it is within my budget? I have a 5-camera 3MP IP camera setup and the confidential price sheet that I have seen on the internet puts me at $645 for an 8-camera version ('way out of my league, sorry to say...too many other lower cost options at that price point). Or not. I'm sure that a Bentley is a fine car, but I'll never own one. Use or try the free Hikvision software.
  16. when you say "It was the newer ones where I had issues," is there a newer version than the V2.3.4 build 130715 that you tried to flash? That's the latest I see on hikvision europe's download page. Sorry I made a mistake in that post. What I mean to say is that DS-76xxNI-SE(P) Baseline Firmware V2.2.4_130328 worked ok with POE internal switch. NOT V2.3.4. I shall edit that post now.
  17. Firmware V2.2.4 worked fine, V2.3.4 did not. There was one other user on here that did flash their NVR with the Hikvision firmware, he had issues with the cameras not working also. Please let us know what happens with your update. Are you going to flash to the Europe V2.3.4 build 130715 first? I would flash V2.2.4 first if I were you. I have gone back and forth, trying the 3 versions mentioned, had no issues doing that. Edit: fixed versions mentioned.
  18. The video output from the Swann/Lorex/Hikvision NVR systems are directly usable, no converting required, really easy to down the video clips from the web pages. The Qsee video isn't particularly user friendly and relies on their software.
  19. Page 40 of the Lorex manual. http://www.lorextechnology.com/downloads/security-nvr/LNR200-Series/LNR200_SERIES_MANUAL_EN_R2_web.pdf Mirror: Mirror hard drive. A mirror hard drive can be used to automatically backup video footage recorded to the recording hard drive. When a mirroring hard drive is installed, the NVR can be set to record cameras in parallel to both the recording hard drive and the mirror hard drive. This way, the footage is automatically backed up if the recording hard drive fails. To configure hard drive types on the NVR: 1 If you are configuring a hard drive to be a mirroring hard drive, you must first format both the recording hard drive and mirroring hard drive before you can set up hard drive mirroring. For instructions on how to format hard drives, see “Formatting the Hard Drive” on page 39. 2 Right-click and then click HDD. 3 Click on the hard drive you would like to configure. 4 Select the hard drive type to use for this hard drive: R/W, Read-only, or Mirror. And so on.... Each camera has the setting too.
  20. With the NVR firmware updating I experienced, it wasn't just the admin password that had changed, the actual admin id no longer existed. The reset code created this again, along with a default password.
  21. does this affect the ones sold by wrightwood wrightwood cameras are derytech They removed those from their site, only listing the Hikvision right now. (5th-sept-13)
  22. I wish Hikvision would change the way they reset the passwords, make it somewhat user friendly. We should just have to hold down the reset button and that should be it. They just make more work for themselves and everyone this way.
  23. It doesn't sound like the nvr will support this on 8 cameras. Without reducing the fps to a painfully slow level I won't be able record at a full 3mp. If you do just a motion event triggered record, you can do use a full bit rate capture.
  24. PM sent Would you be so kind as to send me the credentials as well? Thanks! http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Product%20Firmware/Cameras/Raptor%20Platform%20IPC%202%20series%20firmware/
