  1. 2) See here for the latest version that I use: http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Product%20Firmware/DVR%20NVR/DS-76xxNI-SE/ 3) Yes, setup both type, cont & motion.
  2. Setup NFS on a NAS or on your PC. The newer firmware support iSCSI, haven't tried that though. http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=1729 That link shows a similar setup with NFS. The manual shows the mirror setting, take a look, ask if you don't understand it.
  3. It is there now. http://www.costco.com/Swann-8-Channel-3MP-NVR-Security-System-with-2TB-HDD-and-4-1080p-Cameras.product.100058520.html What is interesting on this one is: "For the ultimate in protection the kit includes 4 all-weather 3 megapixel (2048 x 1536 pixels) cameras"
  4. Not all in one go. Lorex refused to give me a ftp or telnet password, when I went to a higher tech support level. I got an email from the tech support in Spain, who told me they didn't have them. You can setup a mirror on the NVR, so that it writes to both the local HD and a network NFS drive.
  5. Thanks, I thought I used to see those listed. Let us know if you did update yours to a Hikvision version. With the default Lorex version, I had issues with the web interface showing the motion detection grids and with its reading back the video settings once set, when returning to that page.
  6. Just tried, Europe V2.3.4 build 130715, working ok so far, haven't tried the network switch. http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Product%20Firmware/DVR%20NVR/DS-76xxNI-SE/ I think the 'event' video stream type has been removed, can you check if that is in your version? I was never sure what it did and always set it to the same as the main stream.
  7. If I were to do it again, I'd perform a factory default reset, change the password to the default 12345 and then flash the version: DS-76xxNI-SE(P) Baseline Firmware V2.2.4_130328 As this is most like the Lorex version. Maybe if done this way, the nvr won't get messed up and the admin id won't get deleted. The serial code reset is needed to recreate the admin id. See that post above to know which serial number of your device to give to HikvisionUSA, the email is on their site for support. Use the SADP app to grab the date if needed, see the post. I have changed everything to use the default Hikvision passwords. I have tried this baseline version since. This baseline version worked fine, the NVR-POE swtch worked fine, just as with the Lorex. These two version did mention about fixing network issues with cameras, but they broke them for me. DS-76xxNI-SE(P) USA Firmware_V2.3.3_130604 DS-76xxNI-SE(P) USA Firmware_V2.3.3_130620 Just found this, which I haven't tried. Europe V2.3.4 build 130715
  8. I posted this a while ago. viewtopic.php?p=227863#p227863 I can not get the NVR-POE switch working, so I use the LAN with a POE switch of my own, don't know why yet. It takes some getting going, might not be worth it. But it seemed to fixed a motion detection grid configurations in the NVR.
  9. NFS share must be public. Setup quota on your nas, as it will fill the drive...I dont recall if it records directly to the nfs or backs it up or what You can set it up either way. The NFS do have to be public, no id/password allowed. But on some NAS-NFS servers you can configure access only from certain IP addresses, which is something, better than nothing.

    Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I

Can you name a site that carries them? As I'd prefer the fixed 12mm or 8mm modem than the varifocal. I asked [MOD: Please do not try to defeat the word censor. It's there for a reason.], no luck there. I asked the W r i g h t w o o d, never heard back from them.

    Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I

I ordered mine on the 27th, and it was cancelled today, even though the site still shows it. I know their site isn't really showing their own stock, as these ship from Swann or another company.

    Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I

This can be used. The site is out of stock right now, it just cancelled my order. http://www.costco.com/Swann-1080p-HD-IP-Vari-Focal-Bullet-Camera.product.100070294.html
  13. Setup an iSCSI or NFS share on a NAS, configure that to be a mirrored drive.
  14. The Qsee push notification works well in their system with their Android app.
  15. Power the camera off, insert the card, then go to that storage screen, the size of the SD card should be listed and need to be formated. I don't think SXSD cards will work, so the max is 32GB.
  16. I had an awful time trying to focus the dome version of this camera. I didn't want to read this post, as I ordered the bullet version that will placed in direct sunlight.
  17. If you insert an sd card, it should be the same as the nfs setup, format it and away you go.
  18. http://www.nellyssurplusguide.com/Hikvision%20DS-2CD2132-I%20and%20DS-2CD2032-I%20User%20Manual.pdf Page 72.
  19. Not sure if anything comes with them, but you download the software here. PC-NVR http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download_more.asp?id=1215 Client software for windows, view the NVRs and cameras. http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download_more.asp?id=591 Manual http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download_more.asp?id=951 Software to find the cameras on the network and change the IP address, without changing the PC's network config. http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download_more.asp?id=1120 Manual http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download_more.asp?id=1121 All from here. http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download.asp
  20. That software wants a whole HD to install on, which an option if you want to use your PC as the NVR.
  21. What happens when you only have a few cameras enabled? Does it get worse the more cameras that you add? What does the CPU usage meter do each time you add a camera? Is it maxed out when you have all cameras enabled? What are the specs of the HP PC?

    Ceiling Outdoor PoE camera recommendations

Either version can have the image flipped internally in the camera. The software is the same.

    Ceiling Outdoor PoE camera recommendations

A dome version of this here I think would be a good choice. http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=1791#more-1791 It has a 2.8mm lens which gives a good wide angle view. http://wrightwoodsurveillance.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_6 Lots of people use these cameras on this site. I find the Android app pretty good.
  24. Looks like a nice small camera. Must be what all those cars in Russia use. He said it wasn't waterproof too.
  25. I can see that on your 2.8mm version. Mine are the 4mm version. http://www.lorextechnology.com/downloads/ip-cameras/LND2152/LND2152_Series_Specs_R2_recent.pdf Yours look like the new version as the black plastic housing of the light sensor can be seen. Have you tried it yet?
