  1. Yeah I'm sort of disapointed that no one on this board tried to help me since I was new. since the old timers didn't take the time to help me out (the mods could have at least tried to help) I don't know why I should contribute but you sound retarded like me so us retards on here have to help each other since the big boys won't. Whatever. I ended up buying two cameras from ebay. they were dahua brand. the seller was cool...chinese people out of new york. they really know their stuff and have helped a lot. i got 1 bullet 720 and another 1080p. the 720 is great but i put the 1080 in front of my house and the clarity was amazing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Megapixel-Security-Camera-IR-Network-IP-1080P-ONVIF-3-3-12mm-High-Definition-/370794508385?pt=US_Security_Cameras&hash=item5655133061 that was the 1080 I got. I had my handyman mount it and run the single ethernet wire through my attic and into my office room where the NVR is. it was pretty easy set up, even for me. i first ordered the 720 from them because their ebay profile says they charge a 20% restocking fee if you return the item (WTF), and i was worried it wouldn't be compatible with my unit. luckily it was ..and after speaking to the boss dude, he told me that in reality that's not true if you call and explain to them the situation. luckily it worked
  2. thanks for the replies and support! (not) I got it figured out anyway.
  3. Thanks for the replies guys. " title="Applause" /> Well I bit the bullet and bought this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/370794508385?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 the 2 megapixel 1080 dahua. I hope it works out since they will make me pay a 20% restocking fee and shipping charges if it doesn't (almost a hundred bucks). I wanted to try to get away with the 720 but figured since it's the main camera (and only one for now) in my front yard, it should be the better quality one. when i have more dough to burn, I'll probably get 2 cheaper cams, one for my front porch and one for my backyard. -Heather
  4. Can anyone add any cameras to this list? I have the Q-See NVR and am looking into other cameras for it. I would like to score a cheaper one on ebay but not sure if I can trust them to work. Q-See told me that even if the camera is OnVif, the zoom and audio may not work.
  5. Hi Buellwinkle, I am curious to know how you know that you can only use one 1080p camera with the unit? They sell 4 cams with that DVR at Costco 720. thanks
  6. Hi all, I just bought this NVR http://www.amazon.com/QC804-1-Completely-Digital-Recorder-Pre-Installed/dp/B009F7EQPY/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Instead of buying the one from Costco, I decided to buy the stand alone NVR so that I could add 1080 cameras to it instead of the 720 cams Costo includes. Now I am realizing that may not be possible. My question is, can I only run one 1080 camera with this 4 channel system and nothing else? Or 2, 720 cameras and nothing else? Or can I mix it up? and, what kind of cameras can I use on this NVR? are all IP, POE, HD cameras alike? I looked on Q-See's website and couldn't seem to find a list of compatible cameras/brands. Thanks!
  7. Hi. I am new here. I just bought that DVR on Amazon (like new condition for 300). I was hoping to buy cameras separate, maybe cheaper on ebay but now I've read that they may not be compatible? I'd like to start with one great 1080 camera and then add later when I have more dough, but now I"m reading from this thread that the unit only supports one 1080? Does that mean one 1080 cam and that's it? Or does it mean 1, 1080 and a combo of others? Also, what cameras or brands will be compatible with this system? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
