I think Bosch marketing is great. Over here, just tested their Eazeo observation system and really like the RJ11 idea, no need for power supplies, just plug the camera straight into the monitor, makes way for really neat installations! However the idea of a seperate nultiplexer and a 1 channel DVR is still a bit iffy and still having problems connecting remote view. Guys at Bosch have given us leaflets for each industry, Pharmacies, jewellers, Small businesses, Hotels, really cuts out the need to describe benefits. However, their equipment is a bit restricted, you'ev got the eazeo obseration- 160GB non expandable and then the high end bloody expensive gear the divar and dinion cameras, need something in between!

Good point baywatch! a geo or other pci card would be unnecessary in this situation

A Video grabber would be a PCI card of some sort which you would insert in the PCI slot of your computer. Careful though, you need to partition your drives and have a good spec PC for your PCI card to manage all that video recording. If guessing you're in the UK if you're using micromark so you can check out either swann (low end) or Geovision (High end) PCI cards on the net.

Personally i wouldnt, we've tried that before and sometimes it works with short distances but we end up getting video loss signals on random occasions. Doesn't your monitor have a video out? Or doesnt your DVR have a loop? We've only used the T connectors if we're using Geo systems (PC Based) because you dont get vid out for each camera

Hi, Which ISPs do you UK Guys use to connect DVRs remotely and which Router?

Thanks EZcctv, we've tried netgear and had tonnes of problems, dsl link keeps on dropping, is there any particular setup process, all we do is enter the login details to get the internet running and then apply port forwarding, we dont enter any IP details. Is there anything im doing wrong? Spoken to draytek, very impressed with the 2600V product, gonna order 1 in to test it and see how far it takes me!

Lol, yea cooperman, you can say that again. My main concern is the router, we've been having so many problems lately, really need a reliable router that stays connected! Anyway, i await a response from any Brit installer who's cracked it

Steve, never heard of Zyxel, will give it a try though, our routers tend to work well for the first few months, then when you least expect it, the thing buggers up and you're left with a customer screwing over the phone telling you how hes getting crap service This draytek router looks good though, you can give your customers free calls via VOIP, obviously you;ll need the router on both ends, but it'll save customer money in long run, a bit more expensive than the netgear and Linksys though. http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2600v.html, very impressive

Lol, so its not just me! Im having same sort of problems, havent tried Dlink, heard they were crap, netgear has let me down big time, ive got 10 routers sitting in my stock useless, keeps dropping connections, and i tried using it with a Bosch Eazeo observation didnt work. Phoned BOsch they told me to stay away from Netgear, recommended Dlink and 3com. Linksys also has issues. Im gonna order a 3com and see how it goes. Hermin if you dont care about cost, theres a router called Draytek Vigor 2600 which is costly but heard its a brilliant router.

There's definitely not a problem with your card or anything, we've experienced those sort of problems in the past. Its just one of those things, when you need a geo system in front of you and play around to sort it out! Your second problem seems strange though, the recorded footage shouldn't stop when you're recording round the clock, again need to play around with the system till you get it right!

Yea, that was meant to be 206, sometimes with the 308 upgrade card. Its a great system, So used to PBX installations, havent really looked at the VOIP technology, gonna visit the comms show later on this year, will try to understand what all the hype is about! Bit like IP cameras! What about ISDN installations?

C7, glad there's someone who appreciates panasonics systems Lol, i was watching the Osbournes the other month and saw those same system phones we use! Its very popular down here. We use a lot of the kxtd 208s and kx-Ta624s for small businesses, very reliable indeed, never had a single problem, apart from the older SBS system phones, we've had quite a few problems with sound quality! You gone into VOIP installations yet?

Heres an IP for my customer, 213.78.239.209, its also 256kb upload, trying to figure out why it is so slow to download all the webcam components compared to yours

Rory, on most PBXs, you can put an analogue or system phones, we also install them. FOr the customer we usually give them 1/2 system phones and the rest traditional analogue phones which are also connected to the phone system. Its entirely up to you, if you want to put a normal analogue phone then leave 1 pair, or if you want a system phone then leave 2 pairs.

Rory if you're gonna use an normal analogue phone, 1 pair is all you need, if you're using a system phone then its usually 2 pairs. Which PBX system do you have?, if its a traditional panasonic PBX then its definitely 2 pairs. Anyone tried products of www.tracer.com.tw. I've used around 50 of these TS-6020PSC so far, excellent quality, no problems, think i've had 1 PSU failure . Its a line fed camera with a PSU, 30m of RG58 cable, and a quality metal bracket. Ill try get some pics posted.

Sorry, cant help you any further. All the V3 cards we buy use a Dsub connector, and it has a fly lead with all the video and audio cables. The second cable may connect to the Mboard, like a CD drive would have?

Im guessing you're using one of the older V2 cards. I think the 2 pin female connector is for the watchdog function, look it up in the GV manual, it'll tell you how to set it up. There is only one 4 pin audio cable which you pointed out correctly. On the V3 cards however, all audio and video connections come of the Dsub connector.

What about your PSU?, try pushing 1-2amps see if it improves IR range,
