Accessing WDR on Lorex 8 channel system (Costco)
frankietabs posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hey guys. I have searched the forums but could not completely figure out how to access WDR settings on my Lorex system. I was able to find that you should plug in a computer to POE port of NVR but what do I do next to get to the WDR settings for the cams? I have 1 Dome and 2 bullets at the moment and wanted to optimize them especially for night time. I have attached a pic of my setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated to reduce the noise on my side of the house camera. Thanks. P.S. I also noticed that my side camera gets condensation during the day. I went to clean the lens but noticed it was on the inside. Is this common? My other two cameras do not have this. -
Accessing WDR on Lorex 8 channel system (Costco)

Thanks guys. I was able to follow the guide and that helped me change the noise settings on my side camera. The condensation was on a bullet camera but that last few days I have not noticed any condensation. I guess I should contact Lorex to see if there is a firmware update as I do not want to void the warranty. The picture both day and night is pretty good as well as recording motion it does not stutter and is quite smooth. In terms of firmware upgrading, does it make that much of a quality difference going to 3mp versus what is stock? If it does I might consider doing it. -
3MP Hikvision vs. 1080P Swann/Lorex

It's hard to tell where the wire is from the picture, but is it in the upper right? Then no, the person would look tilted. Here's why, the camera adjusts up/down, no problem there, it will tilt downwards towards your subject, but when you pan the camera it will rotate say 20-30 degrees to meet the center of the door at the point someone would be at the door (if that's the plan), when you do that, the image itself will rotate too as the pan motion acts like a pivot on an arc. A 3-axis camera would allow you to rotate the lens back to square. You can still use it if you don't mind the tilted person. If you mount the camera at the top of the center of the door where there' no pan adjustment, just tilt, then it would work as you expect. Yes buellwinkle the cable is in the upper right. Everything makes sense in regards to the tilted view. So looks like my best option is to to ceiling mount my camera under the stucco as I can run a new cable through the garage to that location. Thanks for your help. -

I purchased the Lorex domes under the assumption it was 3 axis. I am looking to mount on the wall at my front door. You can see where the security cam cable is and that is where it would go. Do you think it would be ok there to capture the front porch? I really do not want to get an arm mount there for this location and i do not want to use one of the bullets either. Thanks. -
New Lorex 1080p Domes at Costco now

Thanks zikronix. I just wanted to make sure. I am in Canada and Costco does not sell the Lorex 2 pack dome. I was wondering if anyone has seen these in store or are they available online only. Same for the 4 bullet cams NVR package? I couldnt find this answer anywhere but maybe someone has done it here. Would the Lorex Domes work with the SWANN NVR package that Costco sells? Thanks. -

Hey guys. Learned alot by reading the many pages. My question is are these Lorex Dome cams compatible with the Lorex 8 Channel Full HD PoE NVR Security System with 2TB Hard Drive and 4 HD 1080p that Costco sells? I am assuming yes but I want to make sure before i pull the trigger. Also, can these dome cams be mounted to a wall on its side so I guess is it 3 axis? Thanks. -

Hey guys. New to the forum. Love all the valuable information especially for newbs. I am intrigued by the Swann 1080p with 4 bullet cams + NVR system but unforunately Swann does not have any Dome 1080p cams and Lorex does. I have used Google but to no avail and I was wondering if I bought the 2 pack Dome 1080p Lorex, would they work with the SWAN NVR? I am concerned about Bullet cam install locations around my home such as front door and side entrance, could easily be vandalized, turned, swatted, etc. hence the need for Dome cams in those areas. Thanks for the help.
