Costco lorex network abnormal on motion settings
tekkie posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi everyone i am using the lorex ip system from costco and right now i have 3 cameras connected and one of them i cannot get the motion detection to enable each time i try to enable it I get "network abnormal" or it says it saves but it doesnt work. I tried rebooting, even setting back to defaults but it still wont work Anyone else run across this problem? I have been playing for weeks without the solution i am doing it remote so i cant do it from the console and i wont physically be there for at least 4 more months -
black screen Iphone - Swann App - iVMS-4500 - Lorex netHD
tekkie replied to tim36's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If you go into the app on your iphone and manage your devices and make a change and click save does it show any errors? I was having a similar problem with mine last week, it worked fine at my house but when i moved it to the cottage it wouldnt work, turned out the incoming and outgoing IP's on my cellulat internet cinnection was different and i had to call them and ask for a static IP So could be worth checking if your WAN IP of your router and if you go to whatismyip.com is the same, if not your problem likely lies there. Are you trying the I P or the DNS? Also check to be sure the DNS is being updated correctly if your using DNS -

Power injector for lorex
tekkie replied to tekkie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Which camera ? Lorex cameras, haven't you been paying attention, it's the title of the post BTW, in checking the specs, the camera uses 7W, so if you put 8 of these on that 8 port PoE injector it may not work, maybe limit it to 6 of these cameras. While yes, you have 7W per port, that's at the port, with power loss over the Ethernet cable, it will be likely be 6W available to the camera. Since it will work with 5W without IR, you can always do that and force them in day mode. Yeah i noticed that, for now i only have 4 and i doubt i will go pass 6 anytime in the near future... If i do by then i will have a full poe switch anyway or worst case buy 2 injectors -
Lorex 2TB NVR using WD Green?
tekkie replied to tekkie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
From reading the manual, it looks like it just copies files over, its not RAID. I asked Lorex tech support for my ftp id/password so that I can retrieve the files that way and auto backup to an external NAS. They didn't say no, but they told me to call the 800 number and closed the ticket. hmm Ok thats strange i assumed they would do raid... Guess i should look at the manual also . So i guess its not so important which drive it is -
From the images it looks like a WD Green HD? Anyone know if its the EARS EURS model etc? I would like to have the exact same model for a mirrored drive Also does anyone know if its using software or hardware raid? Just curious
