anyone tried the everfocus ip sidekick test monitor?
acableconnection replied to acableconnection's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
found a used one and got it. works great. i used my iPad to adjust the cameras on a boom lift. all you need is to download an app per camera type. only problem i have so far is with axis cameras that have auto focus. (i need to find an app for that) basically this tester comes with a tiny router and supplies power to the camera. you need to synch your iPad or iPhone to this wifi that the tester supplies. -
Looking to install some IP mini domes on the exterior of a building, with no overhang. Is there a general wall mount bracket I can use?

Mini dome wall mount?
acableconnection replied to acableconnection's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
the cameras im using are ipod-el1mpir50 from securitycameraking. they articulate every direction. outside dimension is 4.5" i could mount them directly to the wall, but i like the wall mount look, and it keeps the snow/rain off the lens cover. -

what do you use to tune your cameras dvd player, etc?
acableconnection posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories
after dropping my last two dvd players, I might try something else. The dvd player is nice, with its batter and all. I did see a backup camera screen at sams club for $100. Not sure about hooking up a batter to it though. -
I havent used this dvr in a while. bought it for my house and it has worked ok. we just moved a few months ago, and i never hooked it back up. wifes car got stolen last night so... Hooking up cameras, and it acts like the cable is not working. I have tried a few, to no success. I can see partial picture of dvr view, and its flipping, etc http://www.cctv.net/Xavee_412_Standalone_DVR_p/xa-dvr-ta412.htm

CONDUIT QUESTION
acableconnection replied to wisp_engineer's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You could run a conduit into the building, but what for? Just drill a hole, mount the box, and seal around it with caulk. -
Im putting a camera on a fiberglass fish tape to check out how dirty my hvac ducts are. (having a baby in 8 weeks) anyone done this before?
-
What is the easiest way to get evidence off of these dvrs? Ive tried the usb port, with a flash drive and couldnt get it to work. Maybe I should just download the event remotely and then write to a disk?

urgent!! doorview camera installations - help!!!
acableconnection replied to gmask's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Have you ever seen how the alarm companys do it? The door is premade with an open channel on the side of the door, and the frame. (1" x 4"?) This one that I had seen a guy wire was for a card access IT room. Hopefully you have a nice hollow door to fish... -
anyone inspected their hvac ducts?
acableconnection replied to acableconnection's topic in System Design
well,my house is only 11oo sq ft, so the ducts are only 10' or so.. some were dirty, some were clean. -

test what your upload/download speeds are, at both ends. -
Coax to Fiber optic converter
acableconnection replied to sbbamafan's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
sometimes these "media converters" as posted above are also called "transceivers" if this helps Used them plenty in the network field http://www.supercircuits.com/Video-Baluns/FOTS-1 -
Absolutely! I put two of these in a couple restaurants. Went back a month later, and the dvr was only at 14% full. 500gb. Of course i have the quality set to normal, and not high, as the owner likes to watch from home. remote downloading does suck though (slow)
