Does anyone download events to another pc or a pen drive?
-
Do any of the budget dvrs have a decent remote console for downloading past events. I bought the averdigi 1304, and boy that thing is slooow. almost useless. Maybe its the DSl, as the speed is only 580 upload. I need a recommendation for a budget 4 ch with remote view and 500gb

I need to capture a security gate 300' away. Am I wasting my time with a 100mm lens?

Im guessing that you must watch the cd on a computer, and the dvd can be watched on any dvd player? What do you guys use?

A buddy of mine wants to install cameras in his elderly grandmas house. He does not need to record, only wants to watch live video, to make sure she hasnt fallen. Is there another option to watch live video, besides a cheap dvr? no computer at location

I just installed a 1304net. The only thing that i dont like about it, is how you have to pick one of 16 recorded files. Is there another dvr that is comparable in price, that has an easier playback feature?

Does everyone recommend cable over dsl, if you can get it. A buddy restaurant runs on dsl, and watching his cams over the intenet is stodgy. If i am in the building it (wireless internet router) it looks great. ONce i get home, its pretty slow. Once i download a scene,(takes forever), it looks almost like a vcr. Question is: Is dsl that much slower than cable to upload? He has att, but im not sure which package.

use wireless to connect 1304net?
acableconnection posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I just installed 4 cameras at a restaurant. The DVR is under the cash register, in an island. There is two conduits there, but I cannot get the string to move in one, and the phone line, that is running the router, wont budge either. Im thinking there is a junction box that got covered up somewhere, by the paneling. I cannot move the router, as he needs a net connection for the register, and phone line for credit card machine. He has 1 pair running the router, and 1 pair to a phone device. Can i install a wireless antenna into my 1304? Would quality suck? -

use wireless to connect 1304net?
acableconnection replied to acableconnection's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
oops, no. the router is under the register, and its running on 1 pair! of cat 5. (dsl?) out of the router, he has credit card machine or register. He does have two pair available... dont most net connections use two pair? pins 1,2,3,6. I dont really want to hack this up though. The dvr is in the office. I need to get someone to help me feed a wire through one of the two conduits, to see if there if I cant pull this myself, or if there really is a jucntion box that got covered up. I could not pull the existing cable that is in there.. pretty scary -
ok, yes. webview i can make changes, but not in remote view...

I just got an avermedia 1304.net in the mail today. Im setting it up for a buddys restaurant. Ive got it hooked up to my network, but i cannot make any remote changes to the cameras. Is this normal. The manual states that by right-clicking, i should be able to change some settings, but I am not. Or is this the usb feature?

Can you really tell the difference? You would have to have the same brand cams, and parts, etc. but can you really tell?

Avermedia 1304 NET questions about remote view
acableconnection posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
If I hook up this standalone to a router, and can view from the internet, does this mean that i can record to my laptop too, or can write a cd of the incident, off of my laptop? Or do i need to physically go to the site, to use the usb port to download the crime? -

whats a good 4ch standalone with remote view
acableconnection replied to acableconnection's topic in General Digital Discussion
im looking at the Avermedia AVerDiGi EB1304 . My concern is that i cannot mask off certain areas of view that would trigger motion detection. I.e. decorations hanging from ceiling moving -
what standalone does everyone like under $2,000
acableconnection posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
standalone or pc based. It seems that i can get higher quality, and a larger hard drive from a pc-based, for the money. Im looking at nv6480, and gv1240 or 1480. 600gb hd -
Im working on a proposal, whats the difference between a good varifocal cam, with sony internals $200 cam, to a name brand, like bosch. could you tell the difference if they were the same tvl res?

anyone have experience with lux-riot software? I cant seem to pull up the archived footage of more than a day old. The hard drive is saying that it has 50 gb free, and 450 used up, so I have to think that the old archived files are being saved, but cannot get to them. He has forgotten his password, or it has changed, so maybe we need to sign in to access archived files?
