Thanks, changed the codecs, same pulsating sound. Sounds like the alien message in the Jodie Foster movie Contact. It’s got me beat, I plan on upgrading the system soon, new computer, Geo card, AC lines etc so we’ll see what happens then. At least I know I don’t have to upgrade bandwidth. Maybe it’s best I don’t hear what my customers are saying in my place anyway.

Have a Gv800 4 port card with garbled audio at Web cam client also with a loud pulsating noise. Video is OK, 1 camera. I’ve done the following: 1. Connected the GV800 card to a 4 port audio extension card, by a 4 pin Molex connector. 2. Tested audio at serve, it’s OK. 3. Tried a 2nd computer, same problem. 4. In web cam setup on RPB tab I limited bandwidth to 125kb 5. Played with the gain setting in audio setup menu 6. Opened firewall in windows xp and made sure router audio port 6550 is open The Geovision server is running on Comcast cable and Web cam client on AT&T DSL with incoming speed of about 1300 kbps. Is this a bandwidth problem, any suggestions appreciated. Played with for days & I’m at wit’s end, Thanks

EBay can be a disaster; you get what you pay for. Bought a card from Hong Kong, worked but not stable and couldn’t upgrade. Paid for it with PayPal and went through resolution process to get my money back. There is one eBay seller that sells official Geovision products and offers support but not that knowledgeable. Clones are tempting but if you need security and not a new hobby buy the real deal.
