Is it just me or do others need to restart their Geovision system at least ounce a day or Viewlog hangs up when playing back video. I do use this computer for other things besides the security cameras so I'm thinking maybe something else is conflicting with ViewLog. If I flip it to Frame By Frame it plays fine with no restart needed. But then there is no sound. Any ideas what may be wrong? Thanks Dave

Why does Frame by work great on 32 speed but Real Time skips
Arockerdude posted a topic in Geovision
Why does frame by frame work so much better than real time. I guess the computer can't keep up with the clock so it drops frames. But why don't they just make it so that when you go fast forward it flips to frame by frame? That way when we slow it back down we would have sound again rather than having to switch back to realtime in order to hear sound. -
Is there anyway to view my other cameras in the main viewing window and have the sound for audio one keep playing? Thanks Dave

It does it even when there are no cars driving by. It is ok now that I zoomed out some. But as soon as I zoom in closer it starts up again. If I get a chance I'll post a video without the cars going by and you can see the camera still flashes bright every 2 seconds.

Can anyone tell me what settings I can change to stop this Pelco 1390 camera from making the video flash every few seconds? I think it is the bird house or the shadow that is causing the problem. When I zoom out a little bit it stops flashing. Hope someone can help. Thanks Dave Here is a link to the video clip that shows the flashing problem. http://fototime.com/F3810D0FCF2C845/conv.wmv

Why is it that when I upload my Avi's made with Geovision to my on line storage site for others to view they dont work? If I convert them with MS Windows movie Maker or Roxio they work but the quality gets cut way down. Here is a link to some of my security videos so you can see what I am talking about. The ones that show a picture work after they were converted but the ones with no picture are made by Geovision and do not work properly. The people that run Phototime have tried to figure it out but they don't know why they don't work. Does this have something to do with Fototime and the viewers not having the proper Geovision Codec? http://fototime.com/inv/A0231A4042D2B74

Hi all everything worked fine back home. I was able to view my cameras on my laptop at home but now when I get to the hotel I cannot check on my dog back at home. Do the hotels block out the camera connection? Anyone ever had this problem from hotels? Im in San Diego CA and there are other open wireless connections but they don't seem to work with the cameras either. The Internet is working ok. A little slow but it is working.

Is there a way to turn invoke alarm on and off easier? I would prefer to turn the alarm on and off without stopping recording and going through each camera individually. Any ideas?

I have a Geovision 800 system with 6 cameras hooked up. My Geovisin 800 does not have live view so I am going to split my cables at the dongle into two. Now what I need to know is what device do I need to hook the six cameras into one AV input at the live view monitor so that I can view all six cameras at one time? I have seen some switcher boxes on EBay but they seem to only switch between cameras. What component do I need to view all 6 cameras at one time? Thanks for the help. Dave

I have a Geovision 800 system. I use a Samsung SyncMaster 940mw as my computer monitor and I am using Pelco Day/Night cameras. Today I split my camera number one cord into two at the Geovision Dongle input, and hooked the split cord to a Mintek 32" inch LCD. Now here is my question. Why is the video displayed on the Mintek LCD much, much brighter than the video coming out of the Geovision? It seems to me it may have been brighter with the old Geovision software. If I adjust the gain or brightness control on the Geovision I can make it brighter. But the next day everything is too bright and I have to turn the gain and or brightness back down. Any Suggestions? Thanks Dave

Would it make a difference if it has an S Video out on it? Or will the AV jack out be good enough? Thanks Dave -

Is there a way to switch to Six cams while in multiew? I only have Six cams. When I play back the video with ViewLog 8.2 I see 16 camera windows. I only need Six. The manual says it will display all available cameras. I only have Six cams and my card is a GV800 8 cam card. I can not find a way to change the settings. Hope someone can help. Dave

This problem was fixed by removing and reinstalling the GV software. It is now displaying 8 cams instead of the 16 cams. That is the amount of cams I have availble. I did ask Geovision. If they could leave the option open for six cam playback with there next version. They said they will see what they can do. Thanks all Dave

When I playback video in Real Time it works half the time. But most every time I try to play back video it does not work. The playback time line bar just twitches back and fourth. And the seconds just jump back and fourth. If I play back video Frame by Frame it works every time. With no sound of course. I never had this problem with 8.1 I got the download link for 8.2 directly from Geovision. I have already tried reformatting and re running windows. It worked ok for a while. But now I'm back to the twitching timeline bar. If I restart Geovision it will work for a short time. Has anyone had this problem? Is there a patch for this problem? Thanks for the help. Dave

I found these instructions in the manual for changing the skin. But I dont have the original CD. Is there a way for me to change the skin without the CD. Fast Backup and Restore With the Fast Backup and Restore (FBR) solution, you can change interface skin and customize features to suit personal preference, as well as back up and restore your configurations in Main System. Installing the FBR Program 1. Insert the Surveillance System Software CD. It will run automatically, and a window appears. 2. Select the Install V 8.2.0.0 System item. 3. Click Fast Backup & Restore Multicam System, and follow the on-screen instructions. Running the FBR Program Run Fast Backup & Restore main System from the Start menu. This window will appear.
