like many, I'm new to the CCTV DVR scene. We are currently using Costar 16 channel embedded DVR's at our locations and due to some various reasons we are looking to switch to another brand. I'm looking for suggestions from people who use them on a day to day basis, it seems pretty difficult to get good information on these things as there don't seem to be many reviews out there, that I can find anyways.
Right now, we configure two to three DVR's per site, we access them using RASPlus, we have 2tb hard drives, remote access to the admin section for the DVR's through RASPlus, email notifications on the status of the systems and would like to keep these features. It seems like you MUST go through a distributor to purchase the costar units and this is what we are trying to avoid, the distributor portion of things; we want to be able to purchase them direct from a website or business and make our support calls to the company that provides them.
If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE let me know, am very interested in the community's opinion of other units that may have better features and be better priced. Thank you!
