Viewing over the internet -- router problem?
gess_serdar replied to zbd's topic in Computers/Networking
It is because you are known as user in your local network. Any computer or mobile connected to your local network can open your surveillance system by writing down the remote ip address or your router adress. But when it comes to outside connection your router does not recognize them as user but define them as threat so it wont connect. I will help you tomorrow detailed explanation. -
Any ideas on the best system for these needs?

Hello tin Your requirements includes camera functions as well as DVRs. 1. You must have a camera which has motion detection option. And you need to set your system to start recording by motion detection only. 2. This can be done by certain parts that can be added to your computer or related server but it is not recommended by us since many DVRs supports 3TB HDD. (which can save up to 90 days record for 4 cameras) 3. Most of DVRs supports that format already. 4. Same as above. 5. During your system setup by technical team you should tell them that you want remotely watch your system from external pc and they will setup your DVR and modem to be able to do that. (unless your internet provider does not allow uPnP connections) 6. after you finish step 5 record your ip number , port , username and password somewhere and install Tmeye program to your android or iphone and setup all those numbers to that program and your good to go. 7. Smallest DVR support 4 channels which means 4 camera maximum. Hope these helps. Serdar -
Hello videoblues When we setup camera systems to our customers sometimes we came upon same kind of problem that you are having. We have 3-4 internet service providers in Turkey and not all of them allows uPnP. So we basicly suggest our customers to change service provider which allows uPnP since there is no chance to override that rule of provider. So my humble suggestion is if you are happy with your provider already just get a new line only for your surveillance system with uPnP allowed provider and enjoy your watching.

Viewing over the internet -- router problem?

Hello zbd You must allow outside connections to your ip from your modem admin settings. -
Hello Charles We always prefer to use CCTV Cables not CAT5 for installing our systems. Because CAT5 responds better on network systems not CCTV systems. As your metering goes up to 280 meters you should use 4+1 CCTV cables which has at least 0,50 mm x2 powers) What is your concern or problem with DVRs? Resolution? Recording ? Playback? HDD ?

Hello candle We usually calculate amper usage for 1 IR camera is 2,5-3A so if you have multiple cameras on your CCTV system you should use at least 10 A power supply to feed them properly. If you still have the same problem, i would like to ask what type of cable you are using ? Because 20 meter is very short distance to feed for proper CCTV cables. We deployed 400-500 meters cables to 1 camera and it is all worked out ok. (with proper cable of course)
