  1. That error would only appear if for example you have it set for 1 person only and 1 is already logged on. Change the connection number to higher value that what is already the default. I cant recall where that option was.
  2. Do they come up as active to select on the app? or online? Maybe change the port to something else.
  3. Hi All, Looking into adding a PTZ to my home security system. I looked at the only one that SWANN supports on their website for this kit and it cost over 1000$. I am wondering if anyone of you have this system with a PTZ that is a little cheaper? My max i think i would spend is about 600$. Thanks.
  4. I would pick up a SWANN kit which provides 4 or 9 HD 1080p 3MP camera kit from Costco for under 1000$ Works amazing.
  5. iOS 8.0.2 is good to go and Hikvision just released the iOS 8 support today. Confirmed it works both on iphone and ipad running iOS 8.0.2
  6. All, I have the NVR8-7200 SWANN camera system installed at my home. I updated my browser to the 64bit edition and the plug ins in which i use the browser to watch my security system via Chrome or IE stopped working. Upon signing in to the website, i am asked to donwload the " web components.exe " plug in to view the cameras. After i do, and insall - the message is still there even after i close the browsers out and relogin. This is also the same on my Mac OS X compared to my work PC laptop. Any insight on this from anyone? Its a little annoying as i have to rely on my cell phone to watch them rather than the browser. Thanks!
  7. All, A friend of mine has the 8 channel NVR8-7200 from Swann. He now is at full capacity. I wanted to know if we could upgrade his NVR to the hiksvision model that supports 16 channels but use the swann branded cameras with it? Would it be a problem? Or, maybe a POE switch? What is the easier way to add cameras on to the system. Thanks.
  8. Yep those are them of course with the SWANN brand on it. So im assuming there is no need to flash the firmware on them. Should be just plug and play.
  9. I agree with this as some apps have been pushing out upates in preparation for it.
  10. So i have the SWANN NVR8-720 NVR which is the 8 channel version. That NVR came with i believe the 3MP 820 HD cameras that are most likely the hiksvision ones. I am just wondering if i buy the Hiksvision 16channel NVR and make those swann cameras from the 8 channel work.
  11. I also got a reply from Hikvision Asia, Hi Customer, Really thanks for your information. As you feedback, there is indeed some compatibility problem between our application and ios 8. But our engineers are now working hard to fix this problem. It will be solved soon, maybe later this week the new revision will be released. Please just wait for a couple of days and download the later version then. Many thanks. Best Regard!!! Randy.Qian Oversea Technical Support HIKVISION Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd. 12. All, I wanted to update the NVR firmware on my NVR8-7200 kit but the firmware path does not exist on SWANN's website. What kind of techs do they have working there and they publish a link before confirming it? Look at this. http://www.swann.com/us/swnvk-872004 <- Link to the product Go to ' Product Downloads ' on the bottom right hand corner of the page. I need to download the " NVR8-7200 No UID sticker firmware update " since my NVR has no UID sticker on it. Was one of the first adopters. The link to the kit is showing ' http://swann.com/downloads/New_FTP/Name/Public_firmware_updates/NVR/8-7200/NVR8-7200_No_UID%28QR%29_Sticker.zip " Note the bold NVR in that link. It does not even exist in the sub directory when i try to look for it. http://swann.com/downloads/New_FTP/Name/Public_firmware_updates/ SWANN tech's please fix this problem.
  13. Anyone have any luck upgrading their firmware on the SWANN NVR8-7200? The swann.com/downloads directory has the new firmware update for my NVR but i dont want to do it if its going to break it. I want to update however if there are enhancements, etc with the device. Thanks.
  14. Hi everybody i just want to start off by saying you guys are great on here and i always come here when i need something answered. I installed these cameras for a friend at his local business. He loves the quality of the video and the smart phone capabilities of the NVR unit. Recently this past month not once, but 3 times his business cars got robbed and just this morning he got his Hummer H2 robbed of all his stereo, some cash, etc. Now, this last incident was his fault where he left the door open, but i am wondering if there is anything i can do that could alert him while there is something going on in the middle of the night? He lives at his business, so he can go right outside at any given moment as he has a whole floor upstairs to himself. I understand the cameras have this motion sensor alert feature that would make the DVR beep correct? But how fool proof is it? I know the big problem sometimes are spider webs he gets on the red LED's from the nigtt vision that they attract to so anything that moves would probably make them go off. Can anyone reccomend something that would alert him when these people come around his cars in the middle of the night? Anything that we can do with the SWANN NVR unit, or something that we can add on? Thank you all so much! If i am missing a feature in this NVR, please let me know!
  15. I was thinking a decent priced wireless outdoor/indoor PIR sensor. Is there a brand you guys can reccomend? He just wants to be ablet o be alerted while he is sleeping even if may be a false alarm or not. Thanks!
  16. Thank you... i am doing some homework on this. I will most likely get him a wireless PIR system with a loud speaker to wake him up and the intruders to go away.
  17. Hey everyone, I have a strange problem that i cant seem to find the answer too. I have the Swann 1080p kit with 4 cameras. I set the substream to be 704 resolution with 1792kbps bit rate. This was set at 1792 bit rate because that is the highest it will allow me to select in the option settings. Now, when i use the Swann View Plus app i select sub stream i can set the bit rate to 2048bps which makes the picture much crisper and cleaner. The problem I have are two, 1. Why is the remote configuration via DDNS page only offer 1792bps where the SWANN app shows as high as 8000bps? 2. When I set the desired bit rate on the SWANN app to 2048bps on all 4 channels, after about 15 minutes i go back in - the value is changed to 512bps or something different almost each time. Why?. Is this variable? will it always change? If so, any way i can make it accept 20048bps at all times no matter what? I prefer this because there is a pretty noticeable difference from 1792, to 20048 as the picture quality for me personally is clearer. Thank you!
  18. I installed these cameras at my friends house and i may say that the SWANN looks awesome compared to the LOREX kit. SWANN just looks better picture wise while the LOREX looks blocky when viewed full screen.
  19. So im trying to update my firmware to my SWANN NVR with the 1080p cameras however the tech on the phone tells me that the firmware will not be available until next year and they are only shipping them with new NVR's only. However, the link shows the firmware available. http://www.swann.com/downloads/New_FTP/Name/NVR_Temporary/Firmware/ What would happen if i do the update myself? I was told by someone that i may get a recovery window and swann tech would need to fix it. Any one do this?
  20. About time! I will be picking up two of these. Awesome.
  21. Thank you, I did see that when I google'd it yesterday. I changed the default port for RTSP from 554 to 5544 and it works. I still get an occasional issue with the 2MP Box camera I got from Hikivision. Do you get weird times where the NVR sets the cameras to record to Manual? I had one channel where the NVR kept recording to manual (24 hour recording) and then it switched to motion by itself when I rebooted it? I read the manual says the NVR is set to record on motion automatically. I checked the event and also the motion detection to make sure it's on for every camera but it's just weird. Hmmm I never had that problem with my cameras but mine are all from SWANN from costco. You know it is kind of weird i guess. I have mine recording all the time but when i do remote playback i see the little pink bars that show where the motion was detected. I guess it cleans out it for you so you dont go searching for motion in the feed. I do see that problem or it could be a feature? Maybe i will call SWANN and ask about it. Good question!
  22. I also had this issue when i first bought my SWANN system from costco back in March. I went nuts for abot 2 weeks after SWANN tech support could not resolve the issue and researching it and i finnaly found the answer. RTSP port by default is set to 554 in the SWANN NVR. I also get an XML error when trying to change it from the web access into the NVR. You must go into the NVR and change it manually from there. Keep in mind that 554 is normally blocked by AT&T and Sprint. This is done on a carrier level and it must be changed in order to view the cameras from your app. I set mine to 5554 and it worked like a charm. I also do not use the SWANN NVR app as it is terrible. I use the Hiksvision IVMS-4500 app from the app store which is also available on the android store. It is much much better. Hope this helps!
  23. Hi everyone, i am a new member but i have been a guest visitor here for a long time. I recently purchased the SWANN NVR8-7200 system from costco with the 4 bullet 108p cameras that they come with. I love the system, i love the quality. No complains from my end. I had a couple of questions though however. 1. Does swann make Dome 1080p's for this system yet? if so, where can i get it. I could not find it on their website. Also will the lorex ones work if i purcahse them since they appear to be the same system. 2. Does anyone know if a PTZ camera that is IP based will be available for this system? If not - is there a generic brand with good quality that i could purchase that will work plug-n-play with this system? Thank you all!
