  1. Well I had some issues with the new camera I mentioned in my old post. It was not staying powered...I finally realized that I was sent the wrong version. I was sent the 24v version not the 12v version. So I used some extra wire and hooked it up to the power supply they gave me, versus the 12v wire I had run and all works fine. Now here are the questions.... Should I purchase a 24v power box and replace the 12v that is there? That would give me issues with all my other 12v cameras I assume. Should I purchase this: [edit-link removed by mod] To convert the signal? Should I just do an RMA for the 12v version? Now the other set of questions are: If I want to add a IR Illuminator etc. and it also need a 12v or 24v power, how do I run another power wire when all is done already? How much power can a 18-2 wire handle? Meaning can I pump more power through it and use splitters at the end to get things all powered up? Thanks for the help and understanding.

Ok, New camera Mounted.....need opinions please.

Ahhh ok...so when looking for other cameras in a better quality range, what specs do I want to look for that will produce less pixeliation? Or unless I go with the unit that has the color and b/w separate cameras, I am always going to experience it? I got the H2 model which has the 2.5-6 mm Varifocal Auto Iris Lens. Should I have gotten the 3.8-9.5mm Varifocal Auto Iris Lens ? I wonder if it is possible to get a different lens all together on there. Thanks DTT

    Sprite 2 Network Issues

Here is the link for the TV. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2294974&cp=2032057.2032170&allCount=89&fbn=Price%2F%2410.00+-+%2449.99&fbc=1&fr=StorePrice%2FRSK%2F00001000%2F00004999&parentPage=family Then I just got got a BNC to Coax adapter, then a coax to 1/8 inch adapter: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103466&cp=2032058&f=Taxonomy%2FRSK%2F2032058&categoryId=2032058&kwCatId=2032058&kw=f+adapter&parentPage=search and I can connect any bnc camera to this little tv and carry it around with me when setting up other cameras etc. Works real nice and is only about $40 total in the end for everything. Rory, If you have issues getting this in your little paradise, PM me and I can send one to you. BTW - I just used the svideo cable and adapter to hook it up to the llittle tv, changed back the settings that I changed before and everything works find now. Thanks DTT

    Sprite 2 Network Issues

Can someone please help me. For some reason I changed the network settings on my sprite 2, but now I cannot access it via my network. No biggie....I thought... Just do a reset on the unit as I didn't really do anything really custom to it. Well DM told me there are NOT any master reset switches at all. I don't have a monitor with a BNC input, so I cannot hook it up directly, and all my tv's that have S-Video are on the other side of the house, and trying to lug a 52" tv into a server room...well....that is not going to happen either. Can anyone help? Thanks DTT

    Sprite 2 Network Issues

Well I did the next best thing. Went and bought a $19.99 tv from RadioShack, then bot a SVideo to RCA adapter for $21.99 and was able to hook the small TV from there. Then got it sorted out. In the end that was a good buy...I can use it with a few adapters to setup more cameras etc without having to carry my laptop or needing anyone else to see how it all looks. Thanks for the advice.... BTW - taking the DVR out of the rack is the most annoying thing....

    New User needs opinions

Hi There, I just got my security system installed at my home and am wondering if I am getting a good result or not. Below are two pictures of my camera views at night. The first one is WITH the porch lights on around the home. The second one is with the porch lights OFF. The place I purchased them at is saying that it is a normal picture, but something is just not looking right to me. Here are the specs on the cameras: Optical Technology Base COLOR 1/4" CCD Picture Elements (Horz x Vert in mm) EIA/NTSC: 542H x 496V - CCIR/PAL: 542H x 586V Resolution 420 Lines Housing High Impact IP66 Casing Minimun Illumination 0Lux IR Leds 23 High Video Output 1V p-p, 75 ohms Power Supply DC12V 350mA Lens 6mm Fixed Lens Operating Temperature -10° C to +50° C (w/ Housing) With porch lights ON: With the lights OUT. Please note that two pictures in the first row (middle and right) have a 120 LED IR beam emmiter already showing in the backyard in ADDITION to the 23 leds ALREADY in each dome housing. Please tell me if I am wrong or correct on this. I need to speak to him later today. Thanks DTT
