Lorex LNC 104 and wifi transmissions

Glad to find this great forum. In purchasing this unit for a vacation home, I wanted to have local SD storage for motion based recording and alerts and I also wanted to view it remotely occasionally. My question is whether the unit is constantly transmitting video or only when motion detected or I dial in?
