Does anyone know of any one who rents cctv equip. like for construction sights that only need it for the job they are working on and then returning it back.If so how would that work?I would guess they would have to be wireless but at what price can you charge for the equip.Any help on this or is anyone doing this.

Also make sure the power is connected correctly like positive with positive and neg with neg on cam and power supply.

ok that job was done i used a second box near the 4 cams close to the power supply box with a ballun and out of that box 4 rg-59 to each cam.To my suprise it work on the very first try all 4 look cristal clear. The client was standing next to my when i turn on the dvr and monitor and he was a happy camper when he saw the views. This was the way he wanted it done so thats how it was done plus he sign the check and thats what matters.Plus he also gave me 2 other contracts for another bussiness he owns.so thanks to you guys i now can play around with cat-5. oh by the way 1000 ft of cat-5 here in pr is $95-$110.

I tried with a difrent dvr and same problem, i tried connecting them to other slots were i have other cams (that look good) but same problem could it be the cam? I was looking at the DVR-16IP it seems to be very user frendly and thats what my client is looking for.It has a copy botton on the front panel so its easyer for him to be able to record events. Its in a hotel and theres always something to play back and record.A few months ago they caught an employe stealing lobster tails 12 of them a dozen. He was hiding them in the dumpster outside then hes poor little wife would come and dig them up.And this same employe owned a small sea food resturant when the word got out he was fired and his business whent down hill real fast (small town) i wonder why

ok so how do you get the cables to the monitors or dvrs?Do you run it underground or is this for wireless cams only?
-
does anyone know if in puerto rico you have to be a licensed installer to do private gobs and if so were do you get the licensed?
-
wow thats crazy and you say there was no electrical failer.Do you have a back up battery for the dvr? What about other employes do they have asses to the dvrs. Also how often are you eraising the old data on the harddrives.
-
yes thats what i meant at the end side of the dvr with the hand monitor looks good but as soon as i connected with the dvr it looses the pic.

Hello. I would like to know whats the farest distance you can have a color cam to a dvr using cat 5 cable?I heard it was like 600ft for color and 1000ft for b/w i just wanted to make sure.Thank you.
-
ok so its all in the tipe of baluns i use to get the distance i need?Im looking for about a little under 1000ft witch would be a good balun to use here?
-
For the power i have a power supply to feed the cams. The cat 5 is only for the view of the cam.
-
ok. i like the first option but the resond my client wants the cat 5 cable is so we can run the 4 cams thru a single cable and use less cable.yes i do have the baluns but only one box and thats the one i put in next to the dvr (200 feet away) were im confused is in the other end were the cams are.would i have to put a second box near the cams and run a cable to each cam from that secound box?
