  1. OK resolved it. The only way to view this cam is with IE10 set to compatibility mode - which sucks. It doesn't work in Chrome or Firefox at all.
  2. I just received my new ACTi KCM-5511, but I can't login in to the web config. My IP settings are correct and I've tried 3 different browsers, all with the same results. All I can see at the top of the page is Web Configurator, but no login at all. - See attached pic. Can anyone help?
  3. E74 isn't on the stock list.
  4. Thanks guys, I've ordered both the D and E models to try them side by side. Just wanted your opinion on WDR. Thanks again!
  5. Hi Everyone, I've just had my application approved to become an ACTi dealer here in Thailand. I just received the latest price list. There is a huge different between the basic cam and the cam with Basic WDR. Around 3,000 baht, which is $100. So for example, the E31 model is $100 more than the D31 model. The only different I can see is that the E31 has Basic WDR. Is Basic WDR worth an extra $100? I'm trying to work out the range of cams I will sell to my customer. Any advice is appreciated. Cheers.
  6. Thanks. I'll stick with Acti then. It makes sense as through my company here I can become an Acti dealer. Keep up the great reviews mate. I'm reading your E44 review at this moment.
  7. Thanks Max - I've sent Pete an IM.
  8. Would you say both cameras are equal / comparable quality?
  9. I've been reading good things about both makes. Does anyone favour one over the other? I live in Thailand and I can source Hikvison cams from China, but it's a bit of a risk if customs grab the package. However, I have found a dealer of Acti cameras in Bangkok, so would prefer to use Acti. Just wondering if it's worth the risk for the Hikvision cams, or I should go for Acti.
  10. Quantum - our cams turn of at night local hours here. We had to to do this to save bandwidth as it was costing a lot to run the site. The cam hours are on the front home page.
  11. Hi Everyone, Here is an example of one of our current weather cams using a Ubiquiti AirCam. http://www.samuiwebcam.com/the_lookout_samui.html The camera is set up to stream at 1FPS. I really like these cameras but wanted to improve on the image quality. The issue I have with these cameras is when it's cloudy the image is very dark and blocky. In bright light the picture looks great. My idea was to set up a 1080p cam and stream that. I thought a 1080p cam streaming 1FPS would be fine for our system, I was wrong... I set up a 3200SP yesterday at a new site and it really struggled to stream. I had to drop back down to 720p at 1FS. http://www.samuiwebcam.com/jungle_club_koh_samui.html The other issue with this cam is the focus, the foreground is in focus, where the background isn't. I'd really like a camera (if possible) that can keep the whole picture in focus. I guess this would need a high F-Stop setting? This camera is also too wide for me. I wish I'd tried the 3300C with the varifocal lens, so I could zoom in until I got the picture how I liked it. Any advice on how I could improve the quality of the cams on my site would be appreciated. I'm new to IP cameras and learning day by day. It took a lot of hard work to set up and build my site and I want to improve on it as much as possible. All the best.
  12. Can anyone recommend a cam to use as a weather cam? We have a remote location on a mountain and would like to put a weather cam up there. We were going to try the Dahua HFW3200C.
  13. Hi There, How do you adjust the focus on these cams? Or are they automatic? On previous cams I have used, you would open them and rotate the lens. But I can't open these cams up. Am I missing something, or being stupid? Noob.
