Mobotix D15 Domes - First impressions
icamera replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Like HDTV's. Soon cameras with 5MP sensor may be the standard for residential applications. And will be presumably much less expensive. $100.00 for a 5MP dome? 2015? I think we are getting close to the end of the life cycle for standard analog. Unless off course HD-SDI comes down in price and can be a direct replacement for analog cameras over old RG59. -
Aiphone and twisted cabling
icamera replied to michaeljc70's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Yes you can get it to work you need another unit that allows for twisted pair wiring. One Pair for 2 way audio to your home phone (when someone pushes the button), one pair for video balun, one pair for video 12v DC power, one pair for release for buzzer. See PM. -
Anybody use Vitamin D, looks like they are now Sighthound?
icamera replied to hotwire's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Absolutely or even process video at 720P but record in 3MP. Why process the video at the full resolution? -

I think Buellwinkle should do a review! How does this compare to Blue Iris VMS? Price? -

Most cases result in a plea deal, where the defendant pleads to a reduced charge in exchange for a reduced sentence. I think its very unlikely that anyone will request the video be authenticated unless this is some big case. Correct, And in a criminal case the defense will and can pick it apart if it's not in Native Format. They can easily claim the video has been doctored. Native format eliminates that. The defense will require you to document the manufacturer of the equipment, the chain of custody of the export, and the credentials of the person exporting it. Been there done that. -
Costco also claims they have only a 12 percent markup. Costco is overpriced on so many items...

Costco is suppressing reviews?

Blue Iris Socket Error - Hikvision OEM - Wrightwood
icamera posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I lose picture for 5-10 seconds on the "Hikvision DS-2CD2132-I" Dome. The screen shows "80007246 (Socket error)" After 5-10 seconds the image from the camera is restored. Anyone had similar problems of losing video on Blue Iris? I dont know if this is a problem with Blue Iris or with the camera itself. I have upgraded the firmware to V5.0.2 130805. The camera is a NC-KDO32 (OEM Hikvision purchased from Wrightwood) Buellwinkle has been very helpful in providing upgrade firmware files and support. Just want to know if this is a common issue and if others have experienced and how to resolve... Thanks. P.S - I also have a Dahua IPC-HDB3200c (2MP Dome and I do not have this problem with that camera) -
The 5 is discontinued per my undetstanding.

Image Quality: LED & LCD vs. CRT
icamera replied to hazim's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I had problems with Baluns also. They work well on a test bench, not so much when there are sources of interference. I ran some Cat6e drops under vinyl siding horizontally for a distance of about 35 meters. The distortion and rolling image was terrible. My small 7 inch test monitor showed a great picture. The larger TV monitors in the premises all showed varied degrees of rolling image and distortion on image. Replaced with RG59 siamese, problem gone. Cat 6 drops left in place for future upgrade path to IP. -

What firmware are you using? I downgraded from V5.02 to firmware V5.00 so far no problems. Will have to wait untill night time to see if this has anything to do with IR current draw and POE not being able to supply sufficient power or if this was a firmware issue (V5.02) -

Maybe if you win MegaMillions. Or if you are modest person then perhaps you still would not because you would not want to be to seen as pretentious. Good Luck getting price on Avigilon. -
Installing IP Camera for my residential home. How do I wire?
icamera replied to keepsafe's topic in General Digital Discussion
Usually pro drill holes but if you think hole very scary then just open window in living room and run cables like this. I dont know why homeowner so scared of drilling hole. You should be more scared about scary things not some small hole in your brick faced wood frame house. I mean seriously... -
You probably right. Maybee they secured with heavy duty toggle bolt or 6 inch screw to roof. They could then make swing from the camera mount. Nice swing for kids to excersize. Two purpose.
