Avigilon 5MP Dome vs AXIS P3367-VE
icamera replied to MagnumVP's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Where did you see his target reader? If he would do review for Avigilon people who would search for review on Google or other search engine might find his review and be able to see a objective opinion from a person who tests camera all the time. Not a Avigilon salesman or dealer looking to make a few bucks... -
Avigilon 5MP Dome vs AXIS P3367-VE
icamera replied to MagnumVP's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Why? He does reviews all the time. Why would they not want him to do review? buellwinkle is just his username just like ak357 is yours. Please stop the jokes. Hmm, I have hard to believe that Avigilon want "buellwinkle" to do review -

If they wanted you to do a review they would have sent the camera already... Who did you speak to? You have to speak to someone in management... -

Would people pay to view a HD PTZ camera of a city?
icamera replied to mshaffer's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I agree... Not much to see. Sorry. In my opinion no. To me, it's a typical view most people have from there balcony. It's mostly trees too. People like to look at people, traffic and general activity. There's just not enough of that in your view. If your camera was smack downtown on a high tower with min 180deg view you possibly might have a chance, but even then I'd still be doubtful ... once again, just my opinion. Nice looking neighborhood though. -

Everything so easy... SO how much cost? U can easily run Avigilon on netbook computer -
Anybody mounted camera under garage door frame overhang? What do you think pros and cons are? I think that the fact the camera is lower to subject makes the POV better to get face shots and license plates. Anyone?

Has IP gotten cheap enough to replace budget analog?
icamera replied to hubjeep's topic in General Digital Discussion
Analog is going.... Not long ago I was in a ferry station. 40 cameras for 40 turnstiles. And more cameras to monitor other views. Looked like analog Panasonic dome. I though to myself how much cheaper to install one 3MP dome for 4-5 turnstiles... Government almost always overpays for camera and installation. So installing 40 analog camera as opposed to 10 IP MP is money wasted. Installation must have cost a fortune... Somebody probably retired from this one job.... -
IR illuminators and grass
icamera replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
How do they install electrical outlet outside? They cut a hole in siding if recessed or if surface mount you still need hole for wire. Wires are needed for many things.... -

This is Nervous Nelly Syndrome... lol I have customer who was afraid to change light switch cover by them self... They said they need electrician. To each his own. Why are you afraid of drilling a hole in the wall? The house will collapse? -

Wow... See that and wrightwood succumbed to the pressure. -
Oversize the conduit. Always easier to pull in larger conduit. Try to eliminate any 90 degree angles though. The more turns in conduit the harder it is to run wire in my experience.

How Many Cameras & Where to Mount
icamera replied to Chow's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
That is so dependent on local labor rates. Are they licensed, bonded, insured? Do you want the wires run in conduit, in the wall, or just surface mounted to Sheetrock in garage or basement, etc. All of these different variables could have am impact on price.
