icamera replied to fauzan's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hmm... What did they tell you about the Axxon product? Aren't you a network engineer? If you cant figure it out that doesn't speak well about ease of setting up the software.... -

Exactly my question. Was the DVR protected in a locked room or cabinet? Was the cabling inside conduit? Etc. -
Which dome cameras for my DVR/application?? (updated)
icamera replied to Wizz's topic in Security Cameras
Yours is a simple system... Analog... You cant make a piece of silver into a gold bar... If you want much better image quality then analog you need an IP system. For consumers like yourself I recommend you go to your costco and get a system from them thats IP... This way if you have buyers remorse or are not happy for whatever reason you can return. I dont really think you should buy online unless you really know what you want. Heres a nice system: http://www.costco.com/Q-See-4-Channel-HD-Digital-NVR-with-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-4-HD-720p-IP-Cameras.product.100003211.html Good Luck. Please dont be offended. I'm trying to save you from any disappointment from buying something online which you many not like.... -

$350 is a lot now for an analog camera... Consider readjusting your budget... 100 dollars or less per analog camera is more reasonable... i think.... -

Anti-Dither, pre record, and record latch
icamera replied to vector18's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Interesting. Anyone know of which VMS can support simultaneous live recording while still recording motion. This way you have both the the video and the motion events. Set motion events to store for 9 months for example and overwrite live recordings as space needed.... Also any VMS besides Avigilon have the pixel search function so you can mask the area you want to search for video events? -

Good ques., i thought about this to, not sure. What a deal though / and what a business selling things below cost.... To bad no IP cams for $0.99 free ship anyone here want to follow this business model? sell cheap or even charity cameras for cctvforum member charity Can't imagine you'll find a cheaper deal than that. How do they make money shipping that all the way from China especially after PayPal and eBay take their fees? -
Be very careful on law... If one or two people talk and they don't know you capture record sound you may be breaking law... If and when they find out (EVEN IF THEY DID NOTHING WRONG)... SURPRISE! - "YOU'VE GOT LAWSUIT" CHECK WITH LAWYER... VERY IMPORTANT... (This is not legal advice.)

Dahua IPC-HFW2100 bricked - can it be rescued?
icamera replied to mroek's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Difference in $400 illuminator Raytec vs Dahua ipc coverage? Any pics? Do they charge $400 because they can or is it any better at illuminating? Thats a steep price for illumination.... I did not think leds were so expensive.... Must have nice profit margins. -
RJ45 Male Connector Suggestions

I bought some one piece crimps on ebay... Worked fine for me to. I like standard things, specialty equipment which have secret formats usually costs more to fix when something goes wrong... There is a reason large departments don't have many different models of different equipment. Standards makes easier to be knowledgeable, easier to fix, easier to support. Iam aware of camera counts in installs going to 100+. 3-4 models of cameras only, less complexity makes simple and reliable installs. Out of probably 100 crimps I had maybe less then five fail, those were quick to redo. -

Did anyone purchase Swann NVR last month from costco for 899
icamera replied to forum.peter's topic in General Digital Discussion
Why does he need someone else receipt to do goodwill? You either make goodwill or he can say "Sorry I cant, have a nice day call 800 number" -

Thats nice of them. They have a computer though. They should see how much they previously sold for. Ask for manager. If his interest is to make goodwill gesture he should price match for you... Otherwise he will give you a run around. Speak to manager. See how he support you.. Then report back to us. -

Hows their support? Is it a small retail store? Mop & Pop operation? Online only? I want to know as much as possible if you dont mind. Some sellers will only support you if you buy enough volume to make things worth it for them.... You buy a lot? Do they have a thorough product knowledge? Learn as they go? Or make things up as they go along (SOME BIG COMPANIES DO THIS. ) -
What the application of the DVR? How many FPS you need? Who will be reviewing video? (EVERYONE, YOU, TRUSTED USERS?) Need more info to make suggestions I think. Dont know application so its like recommending car when you dont know if you need a truck to haul stuff in or a bus to haul people in? Understand my point?
