Dahua Camera? Video Captures Snow Plow
icamera replied to icamera's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Come to the northeast US. I'm sure uncle Joe from the department of Sanitation can give you a nice splash of snow with his snow plow... Actually the rude New York'ers or New Jersey-ans might just splash you in water or snow while you walk down the street after the rain. People here seem like they couldn't care less, as long as it doesn't inconvenience them who cares if someone else suffers from their stupidity... -

I need a small camera for an Intercom box. Any advice on small pinhole / board cameras for this product? Are there any good HD IP cameras? Thanks.

Which camera are you using? Thanks.

Interesting analogy. Agreed, wireguys. Anyone who thinks they don't need tech support is like the defendant in a criminal case who thinks they don't need an attorney.

Thanks. Do you have an image sample from this camera? Have you used it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/170888759428 Thanks.

Understand your state's laws on audio recording!
icamera replied to akelley's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
So in Pennsylvania all party's need to agree to be recorded for a recording to take place? So what if you are filming outside in a park (with video camera) and you accidentally capture someones conversation. Are you breaking the law? Or is public streets, sidewalks, parks, etc. excluded? This is called implied consent right? What if the person claims they didn't see the sign? I guess you have to make everyone who approaches your home sign a memorandum of understanding that their voice, image and likeness can be used license free in print, want ad's, TV, etc with no royalty or compensation. lol.... -

do genuine dahua products carry the logo
icamera replied to ctvz's topic in General Digital Discussion
As I understand it... Dahua is the manufacturer or brand name under which they sell the cameras in China and perhaps other parts of Asia, Europe, etc. In US they have a policy of no "Dahua" branded products directly competing with their re-sellers (swann?). Why they do this? Probably so that they have an easy source to sell goods to in US market (Swann) without need for many of their own US based sales staff, support staff, distribution centers, etc. Swann sells the cameras to retailers like Costco, Sams club, etc, and they in turn sell to the customer. -
Insert text overlay from point of sale system into recording / live stream from IP camera. What can't be done with IP ??

icamera replied to ctvz's topic in General Digital Discussion
I see. Well I don't know then. If they can make a knockoff camera in china by duplicating the casing of the camera what makes you think they cant print "Dahua" on the camera? You see I also bought from china before. Also bought a product advertised as Dahua. Received unbranded camera. The manual and box were very generic and did not show the "Dahua" brand name. The seller from China claimed that this was Dahua's policy since they have an agent in US. By agent I assume they meant a OEM like Swann... I though they were telling the truth and kept the cameras. -

icamera replied to ctvz's topic in General Digital Discussion
Why do you feel its not real? And why do you think in China they would make a knockoff of a camera like Dahua? Is this common? Maybe I'm not aware... This is not a name brand watch that is a status symbol or luxury good. As far as I'm concerned as long as the parts in the camera are same as Dahua specs (Lens, Image sensor, etc) name brand printed or not doesn't matter much. -

Interesting setup and noticeable jump in quality from analog. Can you show picture of how you mounted the camera? Is the camera secured to a vertical (wall) or horizontal surface (soffit)? Care to list what seller you purchased from? Thanks. -
Cant be done with IP?

That is interesting. The ones I ordered online from china also never said Dahua. Although in the pictures on some online websites the Dahua logo is prominently displayed. -
Dahua IPC-HFW3300C vs. Hikvision DS-2CD2632F-IS
icamera replied to empedokles's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think its amazing how HD IP changed the game of surveillance. The kind of snaps you are showing just a few years ago would probably be considered high end for analog equipment. These days with high definition TV, monitors, etc. a little soft image or blurriness and we say = "wow this is terrible." Amazing... How a few short years and what used to be considered state of the art is now junk you may find placed out on the curb for garbage collection.. " title="Applause" /> -

If you are unhappy. Return the one you dont like. Simple. I'm not sure its too bad - it it noticeable though. If you are a perfectionist like I'am you will probably return it.
