I was going to mount it indoors in a drop ceiling. I am going to a rig a plywood, ceiling tile mount. Do you know the camera zoom or resolution? I cannot find a user guide. Can a PTZ hook to the DB9 Serial connection on the motherboard or do you have to buy a extra card?

Need true 'real-time' video, audio, and PTZ over internet

eganson, I do not know enough to tell you about the CCTV part. But I can help with the broadband. You said that cost was second so that is why I quoted fiber. If all you want is 1 Meg get a T1. If you need more get NxT1. Still more I go fiber, most cable companys offer it if you know who to talk with. -

Not sure if this helps but the weakest link sounds like the internet speed between your two locations. I would get a PTP and then you can use standard equpment. I have 3 100 meg fiber PTP and 1 10 meg internet. Below are some Houston Texas priceing. 10 Mbps Ethernet Connectivity Monthly 1 Year Rate $3000.00 10 Mbps Ethernet Connectivity Monthly 3 Year Rate $2500.00 10 Mbps Ethernet Connectivity Monthly 5 Year Rate $2000.00 100 Mbps Ethernet Connectivity Monthly 1 Year Rate $5000.00 100 Mbps Ethernet Connectivity Monthly 3 Year Rate $4400.00 100 Mbps Ethernet Connectivity Monthly 5 Year Rate $3500.00 1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity Monthly 1 year Rate $7000.00 1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity Monthly 3 Year Rate $6000.00 1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity Monthly 5 Year Rate $5000.00 -

Rental information required - Security Camera Installations
joe4 replied to mparis's topic in Security Cameras
Rentals Paid? Do you mean what it cost to lease public access such as a power pole? In Houston Texas there are company's that deal just with "roof rate" for placement of equipment on private buildings roofs. If you want to use the power poles you have to strike a deal with the city and the power company for a lease. The power company owns the poles and cable TV people lease there use. There are some easy ways to get a power pole on public property. -

I am done building and tweaking the system but I have a few questions. 1. On my GV800-4 I do not know where to plug in the two cables that the audio part has. I see one fits on the GV800 but I cannot find a home for the other smaller connector. 2. Is there anyway to test if the watchguard jumper cabel is setup correct? 3. Has anyone used the Antec SL400 powersupply, I am getting sub 900 RPM for the powersupply fan speed. All I need now is my cameras and I will post some pics.

Geovision vs Video Insight
joe4 replied to bucklock's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
bucklock, Who was the supplyer in Texas? -
On the geovision demos I look at it seems that the fps is around 10 and the kbs is about the same. Does this mean that 1 frame is about 1 kb? Would that also mean that the quality I can expect from my 786 up DSL to be full motion on the web viewer? I am setting up a store with 4 cameras and the only viewer the owner will be using is the web client and I would like to demo something close to what he can expect for quality.

I have a friend that owns a pet store and he wants me to hookup a CCTV system so that he can watch the employees from his house and main office. Can someone please help me with what to use? I like the geovision card but how good is the i-mode viewer? What service do you need to get from your cell company? How good will the web viewer look over at 386 Kb/Up DSL connection on the server? The location is about 20x40 and he would like to use 2-3 cameras in the front and one in the back area that is 10x10. All color cameras. Both areas are will let with florescent lighting. The camera budget is around $150-200 per camera. I care more about video quality than the look so domes are not required. Can someone suggest what geovision to get that would match this camera quality and what server specs to install it in? I was looking at the GV-600-4. Also can I add another GV-600-4 further down the road to the same server? I also want the option to do the POS overlay. The register uses a DB9 RS232 connection. WE PLAN ON STARTING THE INSTALL WITHIN A WEEK AND WILL BE PURCHASING ONLINE. Thanks in advance for all your help.
