Shockwave -- did you ever get any more info on this? I'm heading down the same path. I like the Hikvision DS-7608NI-SE/8P. And on the hikvision site, the spec sheet you can download shows the alarm in/out terminals on the back panel. But the user manual on the same web page does not show the alarm I/O!!! Called the Hikvision USA tech support and they confirm it is on there.... Currently having wrightwood check it out. They say the Chinese version does not have the I/O, and are trying to get hold of their distributor to determine how the US model is configured... This is getting to be frustrating... Dave
