Depends if you want to go PoE e.t.c Connecting multiple cameras to a PC is the easy part. Normally with IP cameras, just use a PoE Switch and then back it all up to a NAS. For your DVR, we use Milestone or Axis software, but there are tons out there. May I also suggest looking at Intel's AIM software https://aimsuite.intel.com/ This basically works off the analytic's off a person. I know they have an SDK to download as I have it myself. The only thing that we are doing that's similar to this, is our ANPR stuff (blacklist, whitelist e.t.c), but as you know thats with plates, not faces!

We use MIlestone and are a VAR for them. Great piece of kit. -

You're right, not with the stuff we have anyway. With government gear it's possible. We have been commissioned to do a job within a long corridor, if a person leaves an object(unattended item) the doors will lock. Currently using 2 cameras and its working fine. -

Just been playing around downstairs and we can get it to pick up a 10cm square box from around 6m away (unattended item). Bear in mind we have one of RIVA's low spec cameras. -

I agree, however with the right classification and amendments it's not that bad. Our testing seems to be going well at the moment, but you're right, in a huge crowd it becomes a lot harder. -

Currently working with Intel AIM suite, which follows your face and will display a rough age/gender e.t.c Really good, however incorparating the API into other things is becoming hard. Also using RIVA cameras at the moment. Jobs including people counting and unattended items at airports is becoming popular for us and looking to get even busier towards the end of the year! -

Used the new version of Milestone with our new PTZ as our old version does not accept it. It worked like a charm. -
Need help finding outdoor PTZ with tracking

RIVA metadata supports various VMS manufacturers. I'm use Digifort VMS together with RIVA cameras. This software accepts alarms via RIVA cameras metadata. Also, supports counting functions, generate graphical reports, etc. I think we might just use the RIVA's webpage to set everything up (got a job that will need to identify unattended items), I managed to download a utility tool called Hercules SETUP utility which basically accepts data via TCP and pushes out the VCA alarms there. But I still might play around with some VMS. Thanks. -

Hi Guys, We have a RIVA RC110, and we can get metadata out of this and can get it to email or ftp us on VCA alert, anyone know the best way to use the metadata? Regards, Daniel.
