Why would you want to do that? You can use 4 gigs in and xp machine. The only difference between vista and xp is that with vista you need at least 3 gigs with xp 2 is sufficient, in my opinion.

Just becareful with the heat in the ceiling, heat rises and you might be replacing that dvr sooner if you have it in the ceiling...

I think we need more info, Like camera model or camera picture, Also give us the specs on the dvr. it can say it's a sony but it might just be a guy in his house in china making these,, Give us more also give us a couple of pictures for reference....
