Can we suggest a calendar in the playback module, Would be nice, Also get rid of the drop down menus they put into 8.2. Just in case they ever want to listen to the people that use there products.... MAKE THINGS BETTER NOT WORSE GEOVISION!!! Sorry for my venting

This is true but what they don't tell you is when the have a firmware defect and do not issue a recall , Now I have customers with hard drives less than a couple of weeks old and All Seagate can send me is a bunch of reconditioned drives that come with a 3 month warranty instead of that 3 or 5 yr warranty they are suppose to give..... Got to love it... I am done with Seagate. ...... Back to Western Digital.... pray and hope for the best......

I am still on the fence on this subject, As i see it there are great things coming from the IP megapixel market but like there analog brothers there is no standard for anything. One company can make 20 different models with 20 different software versions. With the economy the way it is alot of companies are looking to cut there spending and 1 in 20 will really have the budget to do an all IP solution, and thats reality. Most medium sized businesses I am giving them more of a hybrid system then anything else. And lets not get started on the small business that are just looking to cut spending period. The biggest problem I've found with most companies are the IT department, IT personel are very protective of there network and I can't blame them. When we start telling them we need to test there network and this and that before we could give you an answer on whether we can put an IP system on and existing infrastructure they don't seem to like any outside person telling them what to do on the Network. I think everything has a place and the way things are the economy dictates my solutions...

Anyone have any troubleshooting ideas on this dvr, A new customer of mine had a system installed about 7 months ago. He had been calling a trunk slammer that installed the system and NADA then called me to fix the mess that was there. I fixed everything but the remote control problem and a have a bald spot to prove it. The batteries were change the receiver shows the red light when pressing any key on the remote but no reaction from the DVR. I have tryed changing to other USB ports and again nothing any ideas anyone anyone?

well you asked for my opinion so here it goes. This is a great forum and helps me alot. I agree with D&C_ELECTRONICS about having the latest news and think it would be a great idea. Also have a place for just Seminars were anyone can post upcoming seminars. another thing how about having a products page that we can comment on and rate the product kind of like consumer reports but for us. how about a database of name brand dvr manuals. Oh and the most important thing I don't mind people having a certain number of post before they can post links and picture i think that is a great idea and keeps the spammers out But having every tom dick and jane come here to sell there products is another problem we might want to address..... I guess this will be the last time you ask for my opinion huh?? Oh and the last thing can we limit Scorpion to 100 post a day, I need my guys to work not be on the pc reading about when the florida meet is....

One thing i have to admit about geovision is they made things worse with 8.2 the menus suck worse that anything out there the should of left the menus the way they were. If also they made there playback easier to navigate with a calender that would be great..

If you plan on using ou home PC for a dvr too, get ready to have evryonr in your house kill you that thing will be slow. I suggest you get a pc just for that aver is ok i personally like geo but everone has the preferences, Get yourself a standalone and that will fix the card problem and the computer problem.

Just don't under estimate the basic idiot........

My toolbox has the pro and the camera master to focus. If you are trying to compare the 2 you are comparing apples and oranges. I use the pro for almost everything but its not a replacement for the camera master and even that isn't perfect you kind need the both, I have to admit i could probably focus a camera using the Pro but i always use the Camera master even that needs to be refined with a peak level. But For this type of work i would say get one, to be on a lift and go down to the dvr to fix a ptz or trouble shoot or even to fix the mess that the trunk slammers do around my area. But anyway seriously it is a wonderful tool cannot be replaced.....You need both

C7 in CA said it, I 've had nothing with problems with the Rapport. Two of them down. Ideal SecuriTEST is the same thing just rebranded Got tired and spent the money on the Ideal SecuriTEST PRO, I would recommend this to all my friends best thing i bought in a very long time. Comes with a litium battery that i used for 2 weeks without a charge, I love it.....No complaints here oh by the way its alot thinner then the Ideal SecuriTEST(Rapport)......
