ye a big pain in the butt, these cameras require patience and small fingers

Guys I have an issue, I have an my IT guy asking me about the ports used by Geovision, I useally forward the 3 using both protocols.. But now were asking if we need to use both on all also traffic direction... Port: 80 or 81 Port: 4550 Port: 5550 These are my questions which ones are inbound or outbound also which ones use TCP or UDP

I like that I personally don't use fake cameras as the liability issue is increased 10 fold

I agree, Run both cat5 or 6 and the Siamese what are you going to spend 200 bucks on wire come on, Save your money and get good quality cameras, I spend my time replacing cr@p people by off ebay or other stores.... Correct me if i am wrong you are spending a couple of grand on audio components but want to by cheap cameras from ebay to keep you personal items and the family safe... So your going to spend more on your audio components then you do on you and your familie's safety.....????? Please forgive my arrogance but that makes no sense to me...

Cops here do nothing, I had a client that had his gas station booth robbed( no gun just kept the gas attendant outside while someone else raided the cash drawer $5000.00) late one night. I gave them a picture ,camera was 6 ft away till this day nothing.... They come into work hang out get in there cars hang out some more hit on every skirt that passes by , and go home... I think they have a contest of which cop does less. Funny part is we have one chief with 2 or 3 assistant chiefs....... Gotta love it.

I have to agree with coolie11, Better spend the money now and run cat6 & Siamese, The money you spend now on cable will pay for itself 10 fold if you have to cable your home later As for running the power over cat5, I have done it but you do every now and then see some kind of minimum interference.

These are the people that are supposely educating the comsumer? Sad to see such one way thinking... If you say it they will follow...... Not, This just makes our job harder to educate people about cctv

Just make sure you have 4 lux of light at night what happens at night when someone tries to brake in? ahh. IP cameras are good for certain apps not the all in one everyone reads about...Hell if your not worried about anything happening at night go for it.

Duh, sorry had an extra dose of stupidity are you going to try it at another site with different dvr. If not then i am with rocko giving geo the benefit of the doubt and thinkin its a power issue. let us know if you figure it out.........

I used it more for troubleshooting. And aiming, it beat walking around with a multimeter and lcd to troubleshoot. Just sucks I understand don't take my word for it but the distributors word come on.

I suggest you go with the manufacture that will give you the best service and warranty
