  1. ^^Updating above, as I suspected pre and post buffer are easier to find when the system is set on record on motion only instead of continuous recording.
  2. Bumping this again, does anyone have any experience with pre/post roll settings for motion. Scenario: Customer has 24/7 recording 1FPS on non-motion and 15FPS on motion which works. Now they want 15 seconds of 15FPS prior to motion and 15 seconds of 15 FPS post motion. I'm using RC-E (OnSSI Ocurlaris) and set this up via rules but customer is complaining that pre-roll doesn't go from 1FPS on non motion to 15FPS pre-roll. I've been in touch with tech support but we haven't figured out how to get the system to do exactly what they want.
  3. Personally, I would run from anything that has ever had a GE name on it or been associated with the GE video world as fast as I could. The stories I could tell about GE nightmares when it comes to video. I hear you, I played with some GE video stuff a few years ago and wasn't too impressed.
  4. what does Lenel OnGuard do? I've not really been that impressed with Mobotix despite plenty of folks saying they are "the best" I'd go Avigilon instead as well (depending on what price you get... which i'd be curious to see) Lenel OnGuard is the Access Control Software the site uses, it also has a VMS option but that VMS does not support the Q24 and D14D hence us going with SkyPoint. SkyPoint integrates with Lenel providing pop up videos on Duress PIN entries etc..so while the VMS is separate for the most part it does integrate.
  5. I can get 15 fps using MxCC but going through SkyPoint (OnSSI Ocularis) they lose frames, Mobotix themselves told me it's because of the third party software. Unfortunately MxCC doesn't integrate with Lenel or support the other cameras here so that's not an option. I like the Mobotix setup but don't think they are a good fit here, I have some Avigilons that perform without question. and how does Avigilon compare to Mobotix on price though... keep in mind that most camera's will slow down as it gets darker, you can select casino mode which I'm told locks them at 30fps, but by forcing them to that frame rate what are you loosing? sounds like it'll be outside your market but we've always liked Milestone "AVIGILON makes some really lovely cameras and this is another family of them. The Avigilon HD Bullet Camera comes in 4 models, 4 resolutions (1, 2, 3, 5MP) and 2 lens options – 3-9mm and 9-22mm. The 1 and 2MP models run at 30fps, the 3MP runs at 20fps, while the 5MP runs at 13fps – that’s still pretty close to live to the human eye. Walking me through the new HD Bullet range at the SEN office is Avigilon’s Sean Borg and while I rip into unpacking the box, Borg powers up his laptop for a demo of some pre-recorded applications in low light, an area this IR-adaptive camera really excels. As we work on our jobs Borg tells me that prices to the end user are variously $A1017 for the 720p version, $1166 for the 1080p, about $1300 for the 3MP and $1500 for the 5MP. " holy CRAP! $$$$! we buy camera's with a few less capabilities for $220 each. OnSSI's Ocurlaris is based on Milestone from what the folks at Lenel told me. At this point looks like we will be moving away from Ocularis and going with Lenel's Prism or the Avigilon VMS both of which integrate with Lenel OnGuard which is a requirement. Funny thing is we told this customer to get Avigilon and not Mobotix but they insisted and now they want all Avigilon cameras.

  7. Oh I'm aware hence the weird smiley lol. They aren't acting up right now but they have in the past. I called the new company about a small issue and was sent back a pricing sheet. We never got an official letter saying that warranties were voided that I've seen.
  8. Thanks for your responses. The site I'm at the customer wants 1280x960 across the board on 180 cameras (Mobotix/Sony/Axis/Arecont) and 1FPS non Motion and 15FPS motion using Ocularis as the VMS. I've told them that with the Mobotix (70% of cameras on site) frames will be lost going through the VMS, they refuse to budge on their resolution requirements so that's where we are at now. Storage is good, we have Intransa NVR's I'm just stuck here trying to "resolve" the FPS issue.
  9. Can someone point me in the right direction to find out if there is in fact an Industry standard for Resolution and FPS? Someone told me industry standard was 800x600 resolution and 8 FPS, just need some clarification.
