Hey Guys, just wondering what brand of portable monitor you use for testing video at connection points. Currently I am using Tote Vision and CBC Group, but I have recently come across a company called Lilliput that makes some as well. I am needing to buy a new one and just want to make sure I get a solid brand that will last a while. Looking to get a 8-10" screen size and need to be able to hook up coax via BNC to it. Thanks guys!

Spectra III and Spectra IV PTZ's
Surveillance Tech replied to Surveillance Tech's topic in Security Cameras
Yeah, we are using Moore Electronics (Page TV) right now for PTZ repair. We have basically the same set up as you for the test station in our tech shop. I agree it is well worth it, saved us lots of time trouble shooting. Does TLS Electronics have classes for PTZ repair? I am very interested in learning how to repair cameras, right now I am just taking them apart and tinkering with them trying to teach myself, but it would be great to find a class or trainer to help me. -
Spectra III and Spectra IV PTZ's
Surveillance Tech replied to Surveillance Tech's topic in Security Cameras
Yeah, that is the issue we are running into as well, in the past we have bought Spectra IV PTZ's and have just been replacing the older Spectra II PTZ's. I have been tasked with coming up with a plan to replace all of our Spectra II PTZ's with at least Spectra III/Spectra IV PTZ's. Trying to see if anyone needs the Spectra II PTZ's for parts or to resell, since we do not do a lot of camera repair on property. -
Hey guys, does anyone know of a company that sells used Spectra III or Spectra IV PTZ's? I don't need the back-cans, just need the actual PTZ. I am needing quite a few of them due to my company trying to phase out the Spectra II PTZ's that we are currently using. Also, if anyone knows of a company that buys used Spectra II PTZ's (some working, some not) I have over 100 of them that I need to get rid of. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Horizontal Lines Across some Monitors
Surveillance Tech replied to Surveillance Tech's topic in Security Cameras
That what i thought at first, but it were a ground loop on the camera wouldn't each monitor have the same results? And if were a ground loop on the monitor wouldn't each camera that I pull up on that monitor have horizontal lines? -
Hey guys, I have ran across a problem I can't seem to figure out. I work at a casino so we have numerous monitors and cameras. On certain monitors one camera shot (we will call it camera shot 1) will come up with horizontal lines waving across the screen. The camera shot seems to come up perfectly clear on other monitors and other camera shots come up clear on the monitors that show horizontal wavy lines with camera shot 1 on them. So I don't think it is a problem with the monitors or with the actual camera shot. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Or what might be causing the problem. Thanks!

Pelco Spectra PTZ Ceiling Mount Problem
Surveillance Tech replied to Surveillance Tech's topic in Security Cameras
Thanks guys! That will work perfectly! Can't thank you all enough! -
SO I have recently come across a problem with my Pelco spectra PTZ's and their ceiling mounts. We are currently using Spectra ll, lll, and lV at out property and recently the plastic in the mounts has been breaking. We began replacing the mounts we could with the BB5-F from what we had in stock and they work fine. But when we ran out and had to use the new mounts for Spectra lV PTZ we started running into heat issues due to the new mounts (BB4T-F) not having a fan installed onto them like the older mounts (BB5-F). So now our Spectra ll PTZ that we have to replace the mount on are over heating. Does anyone know where you can buy the older BB5-F model mount or have any kind of solution for this? Thanks for any help!
