ivms 4200 question
Chow replied to IdanAbutbul's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Does anyone know what exactly the "VCA Rule" does? The hikvision manual is mostly worthless for this (and almost everything else) with just a generic description of "Click to enable/disable VCA rule". Thanks Hikvision documentation! I hate seeing the blue lines while viewing cameras in iVMS-4200 but I'm hesitant to disable VCA in case it is actually useful and unchecking it might break some other feature on my cameras. VCA rules just show the blue or red lines on your screen when you have rules set up like line crossing detection, motion detection etc. You can uncheck it if you do not want to see them. -
Lorex 1080P NVR from Costco (NVR firmware Question)
Chow replied to evnldr's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hey JoeyJoey I plan on flashing my NVR firmware to Hikvision now that I just got a new 4MP camera that won't work in the lorex NVR because of the password requirements. Also I want to take advantage of the 4MP. How do I contact the right people at hikvison with my serial number and date to make this upgrade go as smooth as possible? -
Need help adding HikVision camera to Lorex NVR
Chow replied to ride525's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I just got a new 4MP camera. It has firmware 5.3.3. I am trying to add this one to my Lorex 280 NVR. I know I need to change the password to 000000 but I do not see away to change it to that. Hikvision says I have to use a password that uses 2 kinds of characters now. Any way around this or is it time to upgrade the NVR now too? -
Lorex 8-channel NVR with 6 1080p cams @Costco for $999.99

it is the dome camera. I will check again to see if they are in the same spots tonight. Previously it was a lot worse (mostly cloudy picture). I just opened up it up and flipped the foam to stop blocking the IR LEDs. Here is what it looked like the night before I opened it up and adjusted the foam around the lens: -

I got my cameras yesterday and just set up one dome to test. I noticed it had the round ethernet plug. Does that mean I have the new model? I didnt see a manufacture date except for on the NVR which said it was 7/2013 -

they have the swann 2 packs still available, i didn't see the lorex cameras last time, i'm not sure if costco would list the same camera from 2 oems at the same time? Will the Swann cameras work in the Lorex NVR or do I have to flash the firmware? -

Do you think Costco will get the 2 pack lorex cameras back in stock? -
Thanks guys, I am not sure if I am going to be comfortable installing these by myself. What should I expect to pay a local professional installer to install the 6 cameras and possibly wire for 2 more future cameras?

Does this look good for the front?
-
Awesome those were the locations I was thinking. Hopefully the cameras can get a clear picture that high up.

How many Cameras do I need for the back of my house and where should I mount them. I bought the 6 camera lorex system from costco to start. I will have 2-3 cameras in the front. Just need to figure out what I need for the back. Here are some pictures: Thanks!
