iDMSS Plus - Push events will only show up if app is open
slopolytech posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have been having a hell of a time trying to figure out and the push notification event feature for iDMSS Plus for iPhone. Currently, events will only appear in the "Event List" if the iDMSS Plus app is open. Although I see each event notification pop up on my phone, when I open the app the event is not listed there. If I leave the app open, events show up as I would expect them to. Did they seriously design this app like this or should all of these events be showing up even when the app is closed? Remote playback works just fine, but having the event list is a critical component to checking your recorded events remotely. ANY help is MUCH appreciated!! I am going crazy trying to figure this out. Thanks!! -
How can I track down Dahua DVR7816S-U Firmware
slopolytech replied to zgebis's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Is there any way to get a firmware update for this model?? If I can't get an update I'll be trashing this DVR and moving on to Hikvision. My current system version is 3.200.0002.2 and web is 3.2.0.0 I can't even find a freakin manual for this thing online! I'm not impressed with Dahua at all. Their iPhone app is a piece of crap and hasn't been updated in months. Every time they come out with a new app they break something that was working fine before. Frustrating!! -

So Dahua released another update on 2-26-15 that had some nice feature improvements. However, I STILL cannot get push events to work. Same situation as above, events will only show up if iDMSS is open when the event occurs. Can anybody confirm this too? Thanks! -
Do Hikvision IP cameras work fully with Dahua NVRs?
slopolytech posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have been looking for a sub $200 IP camera that has a vandal resistant metal housing, which Hikvision does. The Dahua DH-IPC-HDBW4300E is exactly what I am looking for but can't find ANYWHERE if it has a metal or plastic housing (I am assuming plastic). So I have the following questions: 1) Has anybody tried using Hikvision IP cameras with a Dahua NVR? Do all functions work such as motion, alarms, etc? 2) If not, does Dahua make a sub $200 infrared dome camera that has a metal housing? Thanks!!! -
Do Hikvision IP cameras work fully with Dahua NVRs?

THANK YOU!!! This makes me happy to hear! I wonder why they don't list that these are made from aluminum, seems like a good selling point to me Do you have anywhere that you recommend purchasing a HDBW4300E? I have just been looking on eBay, but always taking a chance there. Thanks for your help! -
Dahua POE IP camera keeps restarting - help!!
slopolytech replied to slopolytech's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yep, its the model number listed on the eBay page...but then again that might be my answer right there The camera picture looks amazing, day and night. The camera build quality seems very good and came in a full Dahua branded package, but then again, counterfeit Dahua cameras look pretty legit. I don't claim to know everything and I've been surprised (aka wrong ) more times than right, but I'm a little sketched out just based on what I'm seeing in my search results. I can still recall my first summer job of checking IDs at the beer tent which taught me that anything that says "genuine" is usually not. Now, that being said, Dahua has been booting a good number of models off it's site for a couple months now and I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a model they've decided not to carry forward; or a model number they've changed. It does look like a slightly older design that Dahua has discontinued. "The camera build quality seems very good." That says something right there too. The real deal with those models is solid and heavy...real heavy. You can usually feel out a fake Dahua. I only paid $100 for it shipped from China, so I'll see how it works out! I wanted to try this out since the infrared LEDs are not behind the same glass as the lens, which can cause reflections at night and when the glass gets dirty. I am very impressed with the range of the IR, I will have to post some sample vids. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it! -
Dahua POE IP camera keeps restarting - help!!
slopolytech posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
So I just received my IPC-HFW4300D-V2 today from China and I was initially very impressed. However, it keeps rebooting at random intervals. I can hear the internal relay click and the camera reboots. It is connected to a $5,000 Summit X450e gigabit POE and know that it is working, and tried it on several different ports with the same results. Has anybody had similar issues with these cameras? Thanks!! Device Type IPC-HFW4300D-V2 Software Version2.420.0001.0.R, build : 2014-05-24 WEB Version3.2.4.184667 ONVIF Version2.4.1 S/NPZC4HX036W00263 -

slopolytech replied to kennykhng's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sometimes it can be something as simple as incompatible firmware versions, but not sure in this case...need more info to go off of like what NVR you're trying to add it to and what version it is. -

Thanks, I'll check it out! For whatever reason, it seems as though the camera has stopped rebooting on its own. It will be just my luck to get it mounted on the roof of our building and have it start acting up again... -
iDMSS Plus - Push events will only show up if app is open
slopolytech replied to slopolytech's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thanks! If I click on the notification as it shows up on my phone, then it will show up in the events list. It would be nice if they designed this software to work like Geovision does with their apps. They don't rely on push notifications but rather interfaces directly with the DVR events list. I could be without service for a week and launch the Geovision app and it would list every single event, which is how it should be!! I don't know why it is so friggin hard for all these manufacturers to develop a WORKING app to remotely view events! Hopefully Dahua will actually start testing their apps before blindly releasing "updates" that don't work. -

So Dahua updated the iOS app on 12/10 and push notifications STILL don't work. As stated before, I get the actual push notifications on the home/lock screen but the events don't show up in iDMSS unless the app is open WHILE the event is happening. Can anyone chime in as to if this is happening to everybody or just me? Thanks! -

I am glad to hear that this is likely a bug that they will fix. I just checked and they updated the app on 10/12/14 Can anyone decipher what they are trying to say in the screenshot below? -

Dahua Hybrid DVR/NVR Problem - IP cam won't record
slopolytech posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello, I recently purchased a Dahua DVR-7816S-U Hybrid DVR and I am desperately in need of some help! My analog cameras are working perfectly, they record on motion and all show up on my display. Currently, I only have 1 IP camera that I purchased for testing. It is a Canon VB-M600D that is ONVIF compliant but not sure of the ONVIF version. The issue is that I can't do anything with the IP camera, no motion recording (only manual), can't change the camera name, and the IP camera doesn't show up on my display monitor until I make it full screen, otherwise it just shows up black on the matrix. The camera automatically shows up during the scan, but does not say the IPC's MAC address or other information. Please see the attached pics for the configuration setup. I also verified that RTSP works via VLC media player. So my question is, do you think it is the IP camera or the DVR that I am having issues with? I have ordered a Dahua IPC to do further testing but it won't be here for a few weeks. Thank you for any help, it is greatly appreciated!! I have attached some -

Help w/ Dahua iDMSS iPhone app & remote playback
slopolytech posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello, I am looking into buying a Dahua DVR (DVR7816S-U) but want to confirm some features about the iPhone app (iDMSS Plus). Can anyone confirm that you are able to view recorded events (remote playback) from the iDMSS app for iPhone? My old Geovision DVR allowed us to use the Geovision app to view a list of recorded events by date & time, which was extremely handy. Does anybody know if the iDMSS app has this capability? Any input is appreciated!! Thanks -
Hey everyone, First post wanted to get some opinions here. I am looking for a 16 channel DVR that has an established iPhone app for remote viewing AND remote playback. We used to have a Geovision DVR card and used the GV-iView app, but the app is almost worthless with continuous connection errors due to shotty programming. We are looking for a DVR that has 1) D1 @ 704 x 480 resolution 2) iPhone app with remote view & remote playback and 3) just a quality DVR overall We also use I-Catcher DVR software at work, but requires purchasing a DVR card. The remote playback on the iPhone app seems pretty good, but would like to be able to view high quality live & recorded video. I believe the I-Catcher uses JPEG streaming but not sure. Any opinions are greatly appreciated!! P.S. I am considering a Digital Watchdog DW-VMAX480D...anyone have any thoughts on that? Thanks!

Hello, I have a Dahua DVR like this http://www.cctvsecuritypros.com/liteseriesdvr.html I have set it to record on motion only, and set the sensitivity to 3 (1 lowest 6 highest) with anti-dither of 5 seconds. The problem is there are tons and tons of "motion" events where there is NO noticeable motion at all, anyone have any ideas what might cause this? This is happening on all channels. All channels have same settings for motion recording. Thanks!!

Dahua DVRs - Possible to do remote playback in iDMSS?
slopolytech posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
I was wondering if the Dahua DVRs (namely this one DVR-LT16480MHD) is capable of remote playback of recorded events from the iPhone iDMSS app. I am looking for a reasonably priced 16ch DVR that records at 704 x 480 @ D1 30fps per channel BUT I need a DVR that is capable of listing motion events from an iPhone app to be viewed over an iPhone. A perfect example is how Geovision allows you to view a list of motion events from your iPhone and play them back. However, the overall functionality of the Geovision iPhone app was very unstable and had coding issues. Your opinions/suggestions are much appreciated! -

Dahua DVRs - Possible to do remote playback in iDMSS?
slopolytech replied to slopolytech's topic in Digital Video Recorders
So the TechProSS Plus app will allow me to do remote playback from a Dahua DVR? It's odd that if you go to TechPro's website, they show using the iDMSS app instead of their own app. Just want to verify before I buy a Dahua DVR to make sure I can do remote playback. Thanks! -
