Baluns work best on a 'twisted' pair. The pairs you used is not a twisted pair. Try just the blue and see what happens. If you still have lines, it's possible the DVR is PAL and the cameras are not.

I'm uploading the video on youtube of the spider building the web. I speeded the video up so you don't fall asleep watching it, but I think it's pretty cool how it builds it. -
Who do you work for if you don't mind me asking? I live in Forest Hills.

New cctv system needed

Your better off not having that guy install your cameras if he said that. Call another company than. If your on this forum asking which cameras work best at night, you obviously believe that there are cameras that work at night. Do not think any camera with IR's will light up your property though. There are cameras better than others. As mentioned though, if your area around your house is very dark, some extra IR illuminators will be helpful and maybe have an electrician come in and install some motion activated lighting? -
That was a way good request

It might have a heat sink built in. Are you installing the ptz in an oven?

Have you considered hiring a company to come and install it and tell them night time is your most concern. And tell them if you cannot see at night, than your not paying them. Simple problem, simple solution. -
I just finished up this job today and we used an analog camera for one of the cameras for our reasons. I used a DVR as an encoder and put the camera on the NVR. Can you guess which one is the analog? If you win, you get to pat yourself on the back!

I do not disagree that opening several ports has security issues. But so is opening a port for just an NVR/DVR and we all do it. If I did a large corporation, school, building, etc. , than I absolutely would not be opening ports. I would also not be using Dahua. I also agree that there is alot of I do it better, your a loser, stop helping diy'rs cause this is my livelyhood crap going on. It is quite sickening and sad to read. I just have one quick question for the so called pro's. Have you ever paid for anything at all online by using a credit card or do you do online banking?? -

Are u trying to be funny ? u have to do better plus i don't usually respond to amateurs I thought it was funny, and you responded to me, so that must mean you think I'm a pro. I'm curious though, 1-2 cctv installs per week for the past 8 months, does that make me an amateur? -
I haven't priced them recently, but last I checked, hd-sdi cameras and the DVR were slightly more money than an NVR and IP cameras of the same brand. At least you can use the old power supplies if your upgrading an old analog system though.

Dahua 2MP bullet cam and 100 foot length
luckyfella replied to hdtvjeff's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
OK, let me reword my post. My mistake, I was wrong, but at least I am man enough to admit it, unlike the majority of members here do. Now, it is ok to have both power sources, but it is not needed imo, and doesn't 'help' the camera. And for troubleshooting purposes, it would be a good idea to only have one power source. That's my opinion. -

What gauge and type of wire are you sending your 12vdc on? Just try either the POE power, OR the 12vdc power. Not a good idea to have both. -

Yes, I'm not sure the number of tries, but after several wrong attempts, the Dahua cameras lock out the user even if its the Admin. The only way to unlock it is to reboot the camera/nvr.
