I wonder why they charge more money for just a different firmware? It's the same exact hardware, processor, mother board, network card, etc. They just load in a different software. Software is software. Actually, it makes sense why they charge more money, to make more money! LOL. Did the OP even ask what the difference between the 3204 and 3204P was? I didn't think he did? Weird?

Those specs on the 5808 really do not tell me that much. I'd like to know how many channels and at what bit rate will it record a 3mp camera. I wish they were more specific with their specs. Another question, if the camera is 3mp, and my computer and/or TV has 1080P resolution, how would I be able to actually view the full 3mp's? Or does the image get compressed to fit the screen at 1080P, but if you digitally zoom in, it will remain clear?

The 3204 will record 4 cameras, the 3208 will record 8. Thats the difference. But I think you know that already.

You might be using the wrong type of splitter or it might have to be amplified. Try connecting the computer with the cameras DIRECTLY to the TV. If the picture is good, than start adding splitters and TV's one by one so you can tell when the picture degrades.

No one has answered me? I'd like to know which Dahua NVR will record these 3mp cameras. Most of the specs I see in their site shows number of channels in 1080P.

I became an IC realtime dealer at one time. They sent me their catalog with price sheet and one item almost made me throw up in my mouth was the 2mp PTZ with IR's that Dahua has. IC realtime wanted over 3K usd for it, and a local shop that sold Dahua wanted 1200 for the same exact camera. Than, I started looking at the NVR's. I immediately threw their catalog in the garbage in disgust at the mark up they were charging. That's what I know.

There is a whole topic on this site with a huge list where to buy Dahua and online retailers. Some of them support the product and some of them don't. You should get in touch with a few of them and ask about RMA, tech support, etc. Why would you spend sometimes double the price for a product at IC realtime when you don't have to?

ICrealtime for the most part are rebranded Dahua's. They have some products that you do not see in Dahua, but for basic cameras and nvrs, they are Dahua. Just buy Dahua and save yourself some money.

ever hear of the old saying think twice, cut once? Take alittle effort and run the proper wire for the right camera and you will have less problems in the future.

I know about that camera, it's just that I think it's fugly, lol. I kinda don't consider it to be a bullet though, it's more like a cannon! Lmao. Anyway, there is no way I would install that on any of my customers houses and on a commercial building, they would be worried about vandalism.

Yup, not available yet. I'm waiting for Dahua to release them. So annoying that they put stuff on their site, but don't sell it yet.

A hard wired motion does not draw that much power. But there are certain things you can do just in general, even if it's anything else besides an alarm motion to help with long distance power. You can use heavier gauge wire and you can use a higher MA transformer. If the motion draws 100ma, try using a 200ma, etc.

If running wire to the motion is feasible, why is getting power there the hard part? I'm confused? You can run a four wire 22/4 from the dvr to the motion. The dvr is plugged into the wall, so you have an outlet there. Just plug in a 12vdc transformer and wire to the red/black and use the green/white of the 22/4 to trigger the motion. Going the wireless route will cost you more money cause you need more items. Another choice you might look into is an optex wireless driveway alert. It has a wireless motion and you plug in the receiver in your house. It will chime when there is motion and most of them have a relay output for an external signaling device. The only problem with that, is I don't think it lets you know when the battery is low in the motion like a honeywell system with a keypad would.

Since you were asking about 5800 wireless, I thought you didn't want to or was unable to run a wire. If you can run a wire, than just purchase one hard wired motion and 12vdc power supply. Thats all you need. The motion will have a built in relay that you can use to trigger your DVR.

If your going to go that route, the vista series panels has an onboard trigger. You can program the zone of the wireless motion to be a 24 hour auxiliary zone, than program the onboard trigger to go ground if a 24 hour aux zone is triggered. Than, use an external relay to be triggered once the on board trigger goes ground. Use the external relay to trigger the DVR input and your set. The honeywell motion and receiver alone will do you nothing.

My 2mp Dahua bullet is 30fps and 8192kbps.

It is not 2mp, trust me. As far as the 2 long screws on the lens, loosen them and one is zoom in/out, the other is focus. Just play with them till you get the image you want. The joystick inline on the wire, shows you the on screen display (OSD). It brings up the menu so you can adjust the settings of the camera.

These are not yet available from Dahua. They are infamous for listing cameras on their website that is not available yet. They are also listing the 3mp eyeball camera and a 3mp flush mount varifocal dome camera with and without IR's which looks nice. I definitely cannot wait to try out their 3mp cameras though. It's about time they caught up to the other brands out there.

I would have to think even if you told the government that you could install 1 3mp camera for several turnstyles, they may not even want that. They would probably tell you that they want one camera focused on one turnstyle. One reason being if one camera goes out, they don't lose a few turnstyles, and another would be they just want to concentrate on one turnstyle at a time if they need to playback or anything. And, taxpayers almost always overpay for installations, not government
