How in the world did you think those were cameras? You should be ashamed of yourself. -

Mag lock and strike standalone system?
luckyfella replied to ibrat82's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Your best bet is to have two power supplies and a double pole relay. Let the two locks work independently from each other. You also should consider a fail safe strick meaning it's getting power to stay locked just like the mag lock and when you 'remove'power from it, it unlocks, the same as the mag lock. This way, they are both working the same and if there is loss of power, there is a safe way in or out. -
Most IP cameras do not have a bnc output. I always set up the NVR on the network and connect my samsung tablet to the wifi. There's a 2-3 second lag so you have to get used to that, but it works great. There is also an adaptor that you can plug into your laptop's ethernet port and than plug the IP camera into it and you can view the camera that way. I'll try to find a link to the adaptor. You can't just plug the camera into the laptop directly cause it needs power.

There are two reasons. You can get a better view slightly off the building, and the other reason is so we can swing it in to on the roof and easily service it.

Do you actually think those brands are even known in the US? -
Dahua IP Cams Short Record

I doubt it's the camera doing that so why make the comment about if anyone wants this camera? -

UNLICENSED COMPANY/ NOW CUSTOMER DONT WANT TO PAY
luckyfella replied to andresdamas's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Send her a letter from a lawyer informing her that she will be sued if she doesn't pay. If she still doesn't, than bring her to small claims court. Take pictures of all the work you did and receipts for all the parts you purchased. -
I just recently installed an analog LPR off a gate house and the stop sign down the road was roughly 50 feet away. The lens on the camera was 5-50mm and it's working out great. The camera was under 400usd. I also installed two 1.3mp cameras off the guard house so I used an analog DVR as an encoder and my NVR records the analog LPR.

Are the cars moving or are they at a stop sign or something like that when they are 50 feet away? Have you considered a PTZ camera to move around at will?

Man runs over dog...caught on video. Hikvision Cameras?
luckyfella replied to lowpro's topic in Test Bench
I could be wrong, but it kinda looks like a Swann. This was in the video. -
If your not looking to spend that much, good luck with that. And generally, an LPR is analog.

ANY 15 meter hdmi cable would work.

Dahua eco savvy low bandwidth
luckyfella replied to tibovdk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have been installing a few of the hdw4100's. I really do not see much a difference. The 2100's, non eco savy, I would have to lower to 2048 just so my nvr could run all the cameras and they still looked fine. What I do like, is the new 1.3 eco savy bullet is in the same body as the 2mp bullet so it has more IR's. -
IP camera(s) connected to NVR (no router)
luckyfella replied to smcctv's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Are you running only cat5 to the cameras? If yes, than you need a POE switch, not just a switch. -
IP camera(s) connected to NVR (no router)
luckyfella replied to smcctv's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You can use a switch, they're cheaper than routers. -
Hikvision EXIR turret (new?). 3pm, cheap, no ir bleed.
luckyfella replied to AdamDaze's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
More than often IR bleed is from a poor camera position. The IR's are reflecting off of something, the camera housing is too close to the lens, the camera is turned towards the wall too much, a roofline, etc. The best thing to try to correct IR bleed is to adjust the camera during the night time. -
IP camera(s) connected to NVR (no router)
luckyfella replied to smcctv's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think you actually mean a modem or internet. YES, you can configure IP cameras without a modem/internet, you need either a switch or router to plug all the cameras into the network. With out a router assigning IP's, you need to manual configure each cameras IP, which I always do even if there is internet. -
Dahua IPC-HFW4300S RTSP and Honeywell Tuxedo Touch
luckyfella replied to smiticans's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The honeywell touch is pretty selective on which cameras can interact with it. That's why they sell their own IP cameras that work specifically with it. As for Dahua, they do have an RTSP port, default is 554. But there is no sub stream/main stream port, just a port. -
Convert video in DVR (.dat) format to AVI
luckyfella replied to IvanOvich's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Simply google .dat to avi and you will find a whole bunch of free programs. Also, why are you formatting your hard disk after back up? Why not just overwrite? Are you actually backing up the entire disk? To me, that seems like alot of useless video and more time than needed. Why not just back up if something actually happened? Also, does your DVR have the option to convert to AVI as Dahua DVR's do?
