    Login Failed in iPad

You need to port forward the TCP port in the router. Ipads use TCP and PC's use HTTP port.
  2. So, if the customer had high upload, you would install IP rather than analog, right? So, I wouldn't say to put you on the list of those that prefer analog óver' IP. I think this topic is more about if the scenario allowed for IP, why would anyone chose analog rather than IP.
  3. If your customer had better upload, would you use IP?

    IP for a bar

In a couple of weeks, I'm installing some cameras for an Irish bar. It's not totally dark, but at night, it could get dim in there. The owner wants IP cameras and wants them small and not too obvious. I haven't installed in a bar before, so for those who have already, do I go with low lux without IR, or with IR? Thanks!

    Monitoring Room

You need a room, a desk, a chair, and 24 monitors.

    PTZ cameras hooked to DVR

If you go with analog, there is alot more programming involved. You have to address the camera, set baud rate and protocol and program the dvr to match all of that. Wiring for analog requires coax, power, and data. If you go with an IP ptz, all you run is a cat5 and power and the only programming to do is the network programming. And plus, resolution is far greater than analog.
  7. Just let it record and add more storage if needed.

    Dahua "Preferred Network" Question

Which model nvr do you have?
  9. Today I installed Dahua's new 1.3mp 20x PTX. It's the newest model with it's new eco savy theme. So far so good with it.
  10. It looks like there are multiple tenants. Are you installing for the whole building, or one tenant? If the whole building, go with the two far ends possibly on brackets so they come off the building some. Or, find a building nearby and ask if you can mount on their building so you can face the townhouse.
  11. You didn't answer me, how many cameras per store are you thinking? 500 dollars is not going to get you that much, and if it does, it won't be great quality. You can probably get one megapixel dahua camera, nvr with hdd, poe injector, and a box of cat 5 for that much. Stick it over the counter looking down. Or, I think Axis makes a fisheye camera if there are multiple registers that you need a wider angle.

    IP for a bar

Very true, thank you for reminding me. I can even remote in and turn off the IR's at night and see how they look. I can also adjust the gain and what not. I'll probably go with eyeball cameras and spray them black if I can't get them in black.
  13. Could you start off telling us your idea or budget that you want to spend per system? How many cameras do you want per store? And who is installing it?

Connections for my cameras in one place

So, let me get this straight, all your camera wires are run already and all of them connect to the back of the DVR and everything is fine. So, your asking if you can connect one wire to the back of your DVR rather than all the camera wires? Why? So let me get this straight, you have an analog camera thats working. You have the wire already run for it and nothing is wrong with the wire. You want to upgrade that one camera all of a sudden. And you want to rip up floor boards to run a new wire? Why?

Can you mount a doem camera on a table?

Turn your monitor upside down. Seriously though, most IP cameras will allow you to flip the image as mentioned already.

    Genuine Dahua NVR's ?

Have you seen their prices? Ebay is a huge rip off for Dahua products, and this site is twice as expensive as ebay prices! What a rip off!

    Are these brands unreliable?
  18. I had a building in manhattan that wanted cameras but didn't want to see too much of them. They have digital watchdog domes all over the rest of the building and are happy with the images. This area, they wanted something different, but the same camera. So, I proposed this idea to them and they gave me the green light. It was a pain in the arse to focus, but I think it came out pretty cool. I just wanted to share and give an idea to fellow installers. Here are pics of what I did.

    Different mounting solution

They're basically just sitting up there, but it's impossible to fall down. The ceiling is about 20-25 feet up high and from the 1st floor, there is a door to get up in there and you can walk around. We used a brand new hole saw and went nice and easy so there is a nice clean cut in the sheet rock. Even if it wasn't that neat, it's so high up there, it's hardly noticeable. The building manager had me do one and really liked it so I did all 5 that way.

    DynDNS & Port forwarding

If your using Dahua, you can click the drop down to dyndns and change the server to nvrdns.com which is free, and that will work.
  23. I have one extra of that Dahua PTZ. Instead of 599, I could let it for for 550.00. It's brand new. I bought a bunch of them and never had a place for this one. I also have a video sample of one that I am using or I can let you log into it and try it out if you want. Do not PM me, cause I'm not allowed to reply.
