I've been having trouble with my regular baluns ($5.00 a pair), specially at the time of connecting them to the DVRs, they are not easy to handle in tight spots, and very hard to fit into some of the DVR connections.
For the last few months I'm buying some other even cheaper (green and black), and so far I have no complaints. Yesterday, another tech friend of mine told me that those baluns are not "really" baluns. That there's no resistance inside, and the impedance of the cable is not converted 75 ohms. So it will over heat the DVR eventually, and potentially will be a lot of trouble in the transmission/reception of the signal.
Now I'm really concerned, thinking about going back to all those installations to replace them; not to mention that I have hundreds of those in stock.
Have any of you guys used those cheap baluns?
If so, what is your experience so far?
Thanks in advance.
