We sell geovision, please PM me if you want to talk pricing. You will be able to use the webcam function, just will have to setup seperate ports on each which is very easy through geovision. You also can use a KVM if you wanted to stick with 1 keyboard/mouse/monitor.

best way to tell would be to use a bandwidth monitoring program such as: http://manageengine.adventnet.com/products/netflow/download.html See your bandwidth before and after you start the streaming audio. This should give you a good indication or an estimate on how much it is using.

Geovision with SiS chipset.........RUN!!!!!

which specific model are you using now?

resolution does cut back on your framerate, there is a great post on this forum that explains this.........if you want full resolution and fps you want to go with a D1 quality card...such as GV-2008 stackable to 16 cameras...avermedia also supplies full D1 cards

I have set these up......sorry I do not have exact instructions anymore.....but to make it work correctly you must turn the journal port on in the G-Site POS system......then you have to make a special pinout connection to go from the back of the G-Site (RJ-45) to Serial (9 Pin).....This pinout is from memory so this may not be 100% accurate RJ-45 to 9 Pin Serial Pin 2 -> Pin 3 Pin 3 -> Pin 4 Pin 4 -> Pin 5 Pin 1 -> Pin 6 Parity - Even Data Bits - 7 Stop Bits - 1 AGAIN this may not be 100% accurate, but this is the only way to get Geovision to work with G-Site

You do not need the serial # for anything to do with the software. If you are trying to use 7.0 and your getting usb protection key error your card is probably not supported by 7.0 and you will need to install version 6.0-6.1

I believe geovision only has up to 16 presets for the current software. I believe anything higher than that many presets must be accessed through a seperate ptz keyboard. You may be able to access the OSD menu for the ptz themselves through geovision and get to the presets, but I'm not sure of this.

you may have an IRQ conflict, also make sure the card is not inserted into the next slot past your video card

try positioning the camera at a different angle, sometimes depending on what angle the camera is pointed the picture can appear to be blurry or even rigid at some straight points

Geo to go to 32 or more cameras on one computer?
CameraGenius replied to jeromephone's topic in Geovision
Control Center to simply access the DVR's Software interface, is MUCH faster than RDP or VNC. As long as you are simply doing something in the geovision software itself the Control Center's Remote DVR feature is great. -
looks like one of those cheap wireless cameras on ebay

Geo to go to 32 or more cameras on one computer?
CameraGenius replied to jeromephone's topic in Geovision
We have tried to install 2 Geovision cards in one system and we did not have any luck getting them both to work. As of now Geovision has no plans to release a 32 camera card. -
