the update for the IP cameras will be the latter part of this year, this is all Geovision will tell me at the moment
-
next version of the software will allow you to connect other IP cameras, not just ones connected through the geovision video server........so you will just have to wait
-
I assume you mean view it from another location, not on the same LAN. You will simply forward ports 80, 4550, 5550, and 6550 to the DVR system. Turn on your "webcam server" in the geovision software (it will say WEB in the top right hand corner when activated). Depending on what type of internet connection you have simply go to whatismyip.com and use that WAN IP in IE to access your camera server from another location. A website that can walk you through forwarding ports if you do not know how is portforward.com, if your router is posted on there.

that is a tuff question.........and i don't think there is an answer.........maybe call a pest guy

I currently have 2 x 8 channel Geovision DSP output cards in stock. Granted they are discontinued now. Let me know if anyone is interested, these are brand new in box.
-
first are you sure your connected to the internet connection on your phone, also I have seen where you have to start IE or MSN before accessing the cameras.......make sure you have all your regular webcam ports open (i.e. 80, 4550, 5550)

Is it possible to install 2 GV-600 cards on the same PC?
CameraGenius replied to robca's topic in Geovision
I have spoken directly to Geovision about this and the GV-2004 is not stackable, you would simply get a GV-2008, then you could stack 2 of those in one system for a total of 16 cams -
DVR Card Recomendations
CameraGenius replied to mreaves53's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
First I would say no to the HP, heh, but I guess that is personal preference.....Make sure it has intel chipset on the motherboard and get a Geovision Card, which one depends on what frame rate your looking to get with the system -

nope sorry older cards are not stackable, the only ones that are stackable are the new GV-2004 & GV-2008 -
i beleive it depends on how you setup the POS box, you will not be able to use the ethernet port with the software version you stated, you will need at least Geovision V8.01 i beleive maybe even 8.1

Yes I've done a setup like that before, run a usb cable into an attic connected to a hard drive, didn't ever have a problem Just make sure you get some type of hard drive cooling device to put the hard drive in If your going over a network, I would suggest 1000mb network for transmission speeds

you may want to take a look at the Geovision SDK kit to make a custom application

Like Rory said it is xp embedded system. We had one in here a few weeks ago, very nice machine.
-
You should be fine going with 2 16 channel geovision cards. Remote monitoring will be very easy to setup with this configuration as well.

I could take a look for you, had a customer the other day who just got a new dell pc and was having a similar problem.
